Capítulo XX- Señor Presidente
Chase did not call. In the evening, Patience was waiting for his call before she went home. In the meantime, she had small fights with government agents greasy hands' touching her desk. There was nothing too important hidden in her workspace. It was mostly on how Adam, Bree, and Chase's bionic work, but it wasn't something they didn't know.
She was lucky they didn't touch her plants or accidentally drop them. She would've held a mixture of sadness and anger. Patience had taken care of those plants for months and she wasn't going to let government agents destroy them.
And with the Government taking over the lab, she wasn't able to properly guide Mr. Davenport through a mission. Adam, Bree, nor Chase picked up their phones and Mr. Davenport had to take their place. Patience would've gone but she doesn't have full control of her bionics just yet.
He had just returned from the mission this morning. His hair was a mess and soot spotted his pale complexion. Patience helped him pack his things away in the lab. Adam, Bree, and Chase pranced in wearing big grins.
"Oh, hey, Mr. Davenport, hey Patience," Bree smiled. His eyebrows furrowed, taking out a flashlight from his backpack. Patience smiled, pursing her lips.
Chase cleared his throat and asked, "What happened to you?"
Mr. Davenport set the flashlight on the stand, "Where have you been? We've been calling for hours."
His smile fell and he shut his eyes, he forgot to call Patience. Chase replied to Mr. Davenport, "I didn't even notice you called. We've been too busy flying around the country doing meet and greets."
Adam rested his hands on his hip, "Yeah, we kissed a ton of babies. Their heads are delicious."
Chase withdrew his phone from his pocket, "Here it is. 26 missed calls and a text message with two... mission alerts." Chase hid his phone, "Well, how can we help you yesterday?"
"I had to go by myself."
"And helping him through it was difficult with these agents talking over one another," Patience added.
"Oh, that's terrible," Adam commented. "You should've called us." The group sent him looks.
Agent Graham stepped into the lab, glancing at his cellphone, "Ah, good news, team. This weekend we're off to Paris."
Mr. Davenport flounced to him, "All right. Enough with the press tour. They have important work to do. Because of you, they missed a mission, and people got hurt."
"Well, that's unfortunate, but they have other priorities right now."
Patience had never had someone get on her nerve. Yes, she had Trent and Stephanie make fun of her through high school, but Agent Graham was something else. Patience exploded, "What is wrong with you? An earthquake hit and innocent people were stuck in a building. They were lucky the fire started when mostly everyone got out."
