Capítulo XI- Estudiante del Semestre
Patience's head whipped to Leo as she heard him speak. Their footsteps synchronized stepping out of their classroom to go to the next. They passed by Chase's Student of the Semester posters and another candidate trying to persuade people to vote for them. It wasn't doing much. Adam and Chase had the highest number of supporters and not because they were working together. The two brothers got into an argument causing Adam to run his own campaign.
"So, you're using Bree to take you to class?" Patience asked, marching down the stairs. She carried her books and journal in her hands, hugging them closer. She whispered, "You know, she's a human being and not your personal bionic taxi."
"It's not a big deal. As my sister, she agreed to do it," Leo reasoned. "I only ask her when I'm late for class. I can't have that on my report card later. You know my mom will ground me."
"If you pick up your walking pace for class you wouldn't have to use your sister."
"Well, not everyone is a fast walker, Patience."
Leo and Patience stopped at the bottom of the stairs. Their eyes casted on Adam driving a vehicle in the hallway. It was painted yellow and red flames decorated the front of it. He had his campaign slogan on the front, Vote for me. As in VOTE FOR ME! It looked similar to Mr. Davenport's party bus Leo was caught driving the night they threw a party at his house. Patience moved them back on the staircase in case he didn't park the bus where he wanted.
'Scuse me!" Adam honked. The students stepped back to avoid getting injured. "Comin' through! Who wants to ride on the high school party bus? Whoo-hoo!" He stopped in front of the staircase.
Leo and Patience hopped off the last step. She tilted her head, "Where did you get a party bus? How are you doing all of this?"
"Easy, Principal Perry." Adam chuckled, answering, "Where do you think all of the school funds go to?"
Chase maneuvered around the party bus. His eyes landed on Adam and ignored Leo and Patience. He asked, "Do you honestly believe that giving kids rides to class is gonna make them want to vote for you?"
He scoffed, laughing, "Who says we're going to class? We're just cruising the halls."
"Hey, everyone. Wouldn't you rather walk to class, knowing you're also fitting in 2% of your daily exercise requirement?" Chase informed. Adam grimaced glancing at the students. They ignored him and jammed into Adam's party bus. "No? Okay."
