Capítulo II- Bebé 101
The last time Patience took care of a plastic baby was when she was eleven. It wasn't long ago once you think about it, but the main difference was that she didn't get a grade. She wasn't the only one though, when, Patience wandered the halls to find her friends, Adam and Chase walked out of their health class with similar babies.
Chase had his baby in a baby carrier bouncing along with him, "Hey, guys," smiled Chase.
Leo tilted his head and smiled, teasing him, "Chase, have you been stealing from five-year-old girls again?"
Patience grinned, "Actually, it for health class we have to take care of them for a grade." Patience turned her baby to face them, "Meet Mabel."
Bree furrowed her eyebrows, "Mabel?"
"Yeah, I watched Gravity Falls last night."
Chase's baby began crying and Chase cooed him, "Are you hungry? Yes, you are, my snoogie-woogie-boogie!" he sat down on the hallway's center circle bench.
Bree nodded, "Just when we thought he couldn't get any creepier."
"It cries when it's tired or hungry. I have to take care of him because if I don't, I lose a point. Which, of course, I haven't," Chase lifted the baby's shirt and showed the glowing one hundred on the back, "and I won't, because I have downloaded every childcare book available. I even know how to rescue a baby out of an alligator's mouth. Happens more often than you think.
Bree turned to Adam, "So, where's your baby? Lost it already?"
Adam dryly chuckled, "No. Do you really think I'm that irresponsible? It's in here," he showed them his satchel, and his baby's legs stuck out, "I named him 'shut your cry hole.' That way, whenever I say his name, he'll know to stop crying."
Patience slightly opened her mouth. "Uh, Adam, you keep your baby in your bag and named it 'shut your cry hole'?"
"Yeah! It's super-toasty, books to read if he's bored, and it's totally safe." Adam took out 'shut your Cryhole of his satchel, pencils, treats, and a piece of gum was stuck to him. "Oh! You found my gum!" he popped the gum in his mouth, "And a penny!"
"Dude, you're totally going to fail this assignment," Chase said.
"No, I'm not, because unlike you, I know what a baby likes. I think like a baby."
Bree leaned over Adam's shoulder, "Yeah, he's got you there."
Patience whispered, "Self burn, those are rare." Leo glanced at Patience and nodded.
"Oh, yeah? Well, if you're such an expert on babies, why don't we just let the scores speak for themselves?"
"You're on." Adam checked his baby's back, "I got a 98. I'm only two points behind."
