Capítulo XXXVIII- Desaparecidos

Adam, Bree, Chase, and Patience had no other option but to run. It felt like the longest run to the Davenport-Dooley mansion to Patience. The group of four barged through the front door and Adam's first stop was the kitchen cupboards.

"Adam, what are you doing!" Bree questioned.

He took out a handful of pudding cups, "Our normal lives are over! I have to say goodbye to my pudding!"

Patience dismissed Adam's comment. "What are we- you guys gonna do?"

Chase replied, "We have to tell Mr. Davenport."

"Right." Bree calmed her breathing, "Let's just tell him and get it over with."

"Are you crazy! We can't tell Mr. Davenport!" Chase shouted.

     "It was your idea!"

"Oh, so now you're gonna start listening to me!"

"Guys, cut it out. Arguing won't get us anywhere," Patience interjected.

The doorbell rang and Chase stopped them from answering. "Wait. Don't answer it. It could be the authorities."

"Or we won sweepstakes." Adam clarified his response after seeing their stares, "I know it's a long shot, but I'm willing to take the risk."

Tasha stepped into the great room after the doorbell rang again, "Am I the only person capable of answering the door?" She opened the door.

A man with a blue coat and yellow lettering imprinted on the front introduced himself, "FBI. I need to see Donald Davenport."

Nervously, Tasha spoke, "Donald! You better come downstairs! The FBI is here!"

Patience's blood ran cold. Bree grabbed Adam, Chase, and Patience and dragged them down to the lab with her superspeed. "Guys! What are we gonna do?" Chase asked again.

Adam groaned, "What are you worried about? You're so small they probably won't even see you."

Chase rolled his eyes, "Adam, is this really the time to be making short jokes?"

"Chase, there is never not a time because just like you, life is short."

"I said cut it off," Patience frowned. "May I remind you the authorities are here."

Bree stepped in between Adam and Chase, "Who knows what they'll do to Mr. Davenport! We have to do something, fast!"

"Do you guys remember the conversation we had a long time ago when we first started living as normal kids?" Chase asked, glancing between Bree and Adam, avoiding eye contact with Patience.
