Captítulo XXXIX- Tranquilidad

This one had to be it right? She and Mr. Davenport had failed to create the other ten serums to de-age Leo. Thirty minutes ago, she texted Chase to switch places with her. She was only here to assist Mr. Davenport in quickening the process of creating the serums, hoping they would get it on the first try. Patience glanced at the sheet next to her, it was the last serum on the list. She should be out looking for the bionic soldiers with Adam and Bree and Chase should've been here creating the serum.

Compared to him her knowledge was just common sense. At least to her, it seemed to be. She hated how she belittled herself. She was supposed to remain positive and say Leo would live on for more than 16 years. Every time she would take a quick glance his face grew heavier and his body slumped forward. She had to get him a blanket from upstairs because he was shivering in his seat. The pressure of the little time he had left created more doubt in her head. Even more so knowing she can save him.

The liquid she stirred in the flask reminded her of fruit punch, though she was sure it tasted far from it. Maybe Leo's tastebuds died after the fifth serum because he hadn't complained about it since then. It had to sit for a few minutes before it had to be consumed. As they waited, she cleaned the area as Mr. Davenport created another solution. It wasn't very dirty considering they had to be careful mixing the chemicals.

The timer dinged and Mr. Davenport gave the serum another swirl before pouring it into a beaker. "Okay, serum's ready. Here, try this." He gently grabbed Leo's back, tilting the beaker to his lips. Leo drank the serum and turned to him. "You feel any different?"

Leo's eyes grew bigger than they were underneath the heavily prescribed glasses. He thought for a second. "No, but you are the ugliest nurse I've ever seen."

Mr. Davenport set down the beaker. Patience got back to looking at the formula Mr. Davenport was creating. She recognized the chemicals, some of them were already out the others she had to search for them in the storage they had below. She slid on her chair and typed in the chemicals needed on the console. The scent of the lavender plant Chase had given to her eased her nerves. Maybe she needed to stick a piece to the side of her face to help her calm down.

Speaking of Chase, he, Adam, and Bree jogged into the lab. Patience didn't bother to look up at them. She hit the button to bring up the sealed boxes, they were kept in a cool room below. The silver box was on a table and Patience flicked the locks up.

Mr. Davenport asked, "Any sign of the bionic army?"

Bree answered, "No. They could be anywhere."

Patience picked one glass bottle up to read the label as she said, "They could come back here. They could be looking for Adam since they think he's their leader. We could wait for them to come back or use Adam as bait."
