Capítulo XIV- El Espectáculo De Magia Salió Mal
Patience didn't hate a lot of things, no surprise there. One of the things on that list was choosing sides. For one, she wanted to side with Leo because he had every right to be mad at Chase for stealing his magic show, but at the same time, she was attending the talent show for Chase.
Patience sat quietly in the mid-row, she read the slip in her hands that told the order of the performers. Chase should be the next one to present 'his magic abilities' because the tuba player just hopped off the stage.
"Okay, next up we have the 'Amazing Chase', the only magician whose magic wand is bigger than he is!" Perry introduced, stepping foot off the stage.
Chase strut to the stage, he showed off the cape he had tied around his neck. He picked up the white chair ready for him beside the chair and set it on the center. "Thank you, thank you, ladies and gentlemen! For my first trick, I will move that chair with my mind."
A sound effect of thunder boomed in the gym. Chase wiggled his fingers at the chair. When nothing happened he glanced at the crowd as they whispered amongst one another. Patience furrowed her eyebrows, leaning forward.
Perry booed at Chase, "Boring! Bring out the girl who looks eerily similar to a giraffe!"
Chase shrugged, frowning raising his voice, "I don't know what happened!"
"I do, you stink. Get off the stage before you incur the wrath of my rotten tomatoes," Perry demanded.
Patience glanced at all the adults surrounding her booing at Chase. She left the paper on her chair, frustrated with the adults' behavior.
Chase fixed the top hat on his head, "No, no, no, no! Please! I can do it! I really can." He reached out and wiggled his fingers again, squeezing his eyes shut.
"This is awful," snickered Principal Perry.
Patience made her way to the aisle dividing the two sections of chairs. She flinched up hearing the familiar deep voice, "Hey! You want to see me move that chair with my head?" She glanced at the stage, Chase no longer wore the cape or hat. Spike picked up the chair and smashed it through his head, snapping it in half.
Principal Perry laughed, "Wow!"
The audience's boos turned into cheers of amazement. Spike jumped and flexed. Leo ran up on the stage and Patience's eyes widened. Three steel hoops were in his hands, Patience tilted her head at him. Leo sheepishly waved at her.
Principal Perry joined Leo and Spike on the stage, "Well, there's a fine line between entertaining and disturbing, and I think we've crossed it. So let's take a brief intermission," she dismissed the people in the gym.
