Capítulo XI- El Cinturón

Last night Adam, Bree, Chase, and Leo could have slept over if sleeping in their capsules weren't mandatory. They spent the afternoon relaxing in Patience's house going from activity to activity and they ended the night by watching a movie. Now, the five teenagers were huddled up in Chase's capsule, using their bodies for heat. Mr. Davenport turned down the temperature in the lab to at least 0°F or -18 °C.

     Chase's teeth chattered, "So- cold."

"It's freezing down here," Bree shivered against Patience.

"I can't feel my toes," Adam quavered.

Chase clenched his teeth seething, "Because those are mine, weirdo."

Mr. Davenport jogged into the lab with a winter coat on, his face was barely visible from the fur hood. He pressed the button on the cyber desk exclaiming, "Guys! NASA called."

Bree replied, "They want their nerd back?" The teenagers snuggling amongst one another for warmth laughed.

"Look, they moved the gravity belt presentation up to tomorrow! So, we have to put all this ridiculousness behind us, and get back to work! Strike's over!"

The teens stepped out of the capsule, the heater was running, bringing back some heat to the lab. Patience crouched to rub her bare legs, she regretted skipping out on wearing her pair of leggings this day.

Leo said, "Au contraire, Big D. You obviously don't know how a strike works. It's not over because you say it's over."

"Guys, the biggest contract of my life is on the line here."

Chase rebuked, "Oh! We'd love to help you, Mr. Davenport, but since you didn't care about our needs, why should we care about yours?"

"Uh, because I, and listen closely now," Mr. Davenport motioned them to lean closer. The group did what he told and Mr. Davenport screamed, "Said so!" The group flinched back. "I'm gonna go get the gravity belt, and when I come back, strike's over!"

     Adam grinned, "Did we win?"

Bree groaned, "Great job, Leo and Patience. We lost."

"No, that's what he wants you to think," Leo began.

Patience nodded, "We have the advantage to get what you guys want."

Chase pointed at the duo, "They're right. He can't do that presentation without us."

Leo hummed, "And we can use that to get what you guys want, and more! Trust me, guys. I smell a victory."

Adam placed a hand on Leo's shoulder, "Oh! No, those are our feet. Patience and I used, uh, rosewater in our footbaths."
