Capítulo XXXVII- Una visita al hospital

Leo and Patience checked in at the hospital after leaving Adam, Bree, and Chase with the bionic soldiers. Leo managed to sneak away with Patience, she didn't want to leave the bionic siblings to deal with the memory wiped bionic soldiers, but he dragged her along. The hospital wasn't far from the Davenport-Dooley mansion, they rode their bikes to their location. Not before picking up balloons and flowers at the store.

With matching grins on their faces, Leo held the balloons that said Get Well and Patience held the bouquet of flowers in her hands. However, their grins collapsed when Tasha exclaimed, "Leo! Patience!"

Patience embraced the older woman, "Hey, Tasha!"

She nervously chuckled, "Hey, Patience." Tasha let go and fixed her posture, leaning on the foot of Mr. Davenport's hospital bed. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here for my 12:30 sponge bath and Patience is the nursing assistant," Leo sarcastically replied. "What do you think we're doing here?"

Patience shifted to get a better look at Mr. Davenport. His eyes remained closed and his hands were rested on his stomach, laying on the uncomfortable hospital bed. The patient monitor beeped to the slow rhythm his heartbeat was at. IVs pierced into his skin feeding him the nutrients and water he needed maybe even the medicine he couldn't swallow. A ring wrapped around the center of his face to give him the oxygen he couldn't breathe in.

"He's just sleeping, right?" Patience weekly smiled.

"Yes, he is." Tasha rushed to Mr. Davenport's unconscious side, "Look at him, he's pale, lifeless, surrounded by technology. That's the guy I married." Leo and Patience didn't by her terrible lie. They stood there unimpressed with frowns. "I'm sorry. I just didn't want you guys to worry. They're doing everything they can."

A slit of Mr. Davenport's eyes opened. Patience placed the bouquet of flowers down on the desk next to him. "Hey," he softly said. Leo and Patience stood by his side to hear what he was going to say. Mr. Davenport raised his hand to cup Leo's cheek. "Tasha... you look so beautiful." He squeezed his cheeks and Leo's eyes widened as Patience's lips curved up at the end, "Pretty, pretty, pretty."

Tasha pursed her lips, refraining from smiling, "Just go with it, honey. He's juiced to the gills."

Leo cringed, slowly backing away from Mr. Davenport's touch. There was a small smile on Patience's lips from their interaction. She was able to look at Mr. Davenport without a trace of guilt in her body. Dante reminded her of her who she was and why she was there. It was her reminder to never question her moralities again, she knew what she was doing and she didn't plan on changing. She was responsible for the power she held. Douglas may have given her her bionic abilities but it is her responsibility to use them in a good way.
