Capítulo XXXXII- La redención de un mentor

Chase wasn't allowed to be Patience's mentor. Mr. Davenport feared the students would think he would favor her because of their relationship. Though they knew it wouldn't be like that, they didn't argue. Adam and Bree mentored her, well, you could say mostly Bree. She currently was in Adam's class and he lined them up to play basketball.

Patience put her weight on one foot, pointing to the line of students with her thumb, "How is this considered training?"

"Well, Patience," he smugly smiled, pacing to the basketball hoop, "We're gonna see who can have the coolest bionic slam dunk by testing their bionics."

"Isn't that dangerous? Some can't control their abilities yet."

Adam waved it off, "No, we'll be fine. All right, Silvia, you're up."

Silvia dribbled the basketball in her right hand, jogging to the basketball hoop. She passed directly through Adam as if he were an opponent and jumped up, slamming the ball in. Silvia had the ability to phase through objects. As cool as it was, her passing through you was an experience no one would enjoy.

Adam shuttered and gagged, placing a hand on his chest. "Ugh, that felt gross." He grimaced, "That was great, but don't ever do that again."  The brunette gave him a thumbs up. He assured Patience, "As you can see, I am not dead. So, she was able to control her ability."

"Yeah, that was awesome," Patience nodded, grinning. She knew she shouldn't be questioning Adam's skills as a mentor and over time maybe he'll learn to be responsible, however, she couldn't help but worry for the student's safety.

     "Next!"

A boy a couple of inches shorter than Adam dribbled the ball and he hopped to dunk it in the hoop. Patience was sure his name was Ben and he could manipulate metal. He couldn't use any of his bionics without breaking the metal of the hoop. His friends in the class teased him when he got back in line. One of them threw the ball too hard, which Ben dodged. It flew to the training room where Bree and Chase were teaching their class. It hit Chase's back.

The friend group pretended they didn't do anything as Chase marched into the hydroloop area. Bree trailed behind him. "What are you doing?" he demanded.

Bob picked a basketball from the rack. "We're throwing this thing at that thing. I'm an athlete."

"Adam, you're a mentor now." Bree advised, "You have to start acting like one."

"I am. We're supposed to teach them how to use their abilities. So, we're havin' a bionic slam dunk contest. Oh, that reminds me. Patience, try to not shatter the backboard when you do your thing."
