Tay was surprised. She had gotten through the day without face planting her desk. The battle with Kokatorimon had tired her out.

So when the last bell rang, she ran as fast as her tired legs would take her to her office.

Tay walked into her room. The walls were teal and there was a large tv alongside a desk. A laptop was plugged in at the wooden desk. Tay ignored everything that wasn't soft and plush before falling semi-dramatically on the bed.

Tay felt her eyelids fall. She hadn't noticed how heavy they were until she actually closed them for more than a second.

Tay fell asleep, Salamon curled up next to her.

-----

A boy with brown hair snuck into Tay's room. He set down a small Digivice on her desk. His silver eyes shone mischievously as he glanced at the sleeping Tay. Salamon was still curled up next to the girl's face. The boy was named Sam, and he currently wore a blue t-shirt, brown shorts, and black sneakers. His Digimon, Dracomon was a few feet behind him in the doorway. The dinosaur held Sam's own Digivice. It was blue and silvery.

Sam dashed from the room, gently closing the door behind himself.

-----

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"Turn it off, Salamon," Tay groaned.

"I don't even know what it is," Salamon replied in a tired tone.

BEEP! BEEP!

Finally getting sick of the noise, Salamon jumped from the bed. She hopped onto the chair near the desk. She bounced onto the desk and picked up the Digivice in her mouth before returning to Tay's side.

Tay opened her eyes and took the Digivice from Salamon's mouth. "Didn't Fumiko have one of these?"

"I think Ayame did too," Salamon recalled.

"Anyways, now that I've slept enough to keep me from face planting the concrete, let's go see what all the fuss is about," Tay suggested.

Tay swung her feet on the floor and began running down the hallway. Tay nearly collided with Sam. The two kids slid to a sudden satop, sneakers shrieking under the friction.

"Who are you?" Tay asked suddenly.

"No time! Suped up puppy dog spitting lasers!" Sam exclaimed.

Confused, Tay let Sam grab her wrist and drag her into the city where a Digimon was shooting lasers at a boy a year or two older than Tay. He wore a white button up shirt and black jeans with white sandals. His forest eyes were locked on the Digimon, Dobermon. He had silvery blue hair that was windswept from a near encounter with a laser a few minutes earlier. An Impmon stood by his side.

"Kyle!" Impmon yelled, dodging a laser. "We've got company!"

Kyle, having not noticed the new arrivals, turned around. He took brief acknowledgement in the new kids, but turned around a few seconds later.

"He seems nice," Tay muttered before training her sights on Dobermon. The dog Digimon shot a laser at her, but Tay jumped sideways as quickly as she could. Tay began breathing heavily from the close encounter. A gentle vibrating began in her hand, but Tay was far too rattled to notice, or even to care.

"Be a tad more careful next time," Salamon told her partner.

"I would prefer to avoid that scenario entirely if possible," Tay said in response.

"Gray Noise!" Dobermon prepared his attack, but Impmon punched the Digimon's mouth before the attack could come into effect. Impmon's fingers had flames sparking from them.

Tay's Digivice began vibrating slightly more violently, but she still didn't notice. She was too focused on Dracomon breathing fire at Dobermon.

"Tay!" Salamon was jumping for Tay, who opened her arms. "Let me fight with them! Please?"

Knowing Salamon's puppy dog eyes weren't going to lay off anytime soon, Tay sighed. "Fine."

This time, when the vibrating increased, Tay noticed it. The Digivice was practically jumping from her fingers.

SALAMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...GATOMON!"

Salamon had been flying through the air, but now she was Gatomon. The cat punched Dobermon, overwhelmed with newfound strength.

Dobermon was actually fazed from this attack, this punch being blown by a champion in comparison to a rookie.

Gatomon flipped and landed delicatelly on her feet. Taking almost no rest, Gatomon jumped for Dobermon again. The dog jumped from her reach, but the cat had a backup plan. Gatomon did a handstand where Dobermon had been standing. Still powered by momentum, Gatomon got a better angle at attacking Dobermon.

Dobermon was clobbered instantly. When Gatomon jumped through the air and into Tay's arms, Dobermon stood, muttering to himself.

"This is embarrassing." Dobermon made a bird like noise deep in his throat. A portal appeared, and the dog bounded through.

The portal disappeared as soon as Dobermon was through. Tay, Gatomon, Sam, Dracomon, Kyle, and Impmon stood in silence. A dog just vanishing into a weird portal wasn't a typical sight.

"That was..." Kyle began.

"Strange? Insane? Confusing?" Tay listed.

"Probably some combination of all three," Dracomon replied.

"Do you guys have even the sllightest idea how dog boy did that? Where he went would be nice information too," Sam said.

"I remember the previous Digimon being sent somewhere via computer portal. Maybe Dobermon went to the same place, just along a different route," Gatomon suggested.

"Plausible," Kyle agreed.

"Plausiwhat?" Sam asked.

"Never mind," Kyle responded, shaking his head.

"Anyways, let's head back. There are more than a few questions I want to ask around about," Tay suggested.

"I'm going to wish I had punched dog breath more before he ran off," Impmon muttered, somewhat irritated.

"Putting irritation-" Tay looked at Impmon "-aside, let's leave. There isn't any point in sticking around here, so we shoudl just leave."

Tay and Gatomon walked off. Sam and Kyle watched their sillhouettes disappear.

"I wonder what will cause Impmon to do that Digivolving thing," Kyle wondered.

"When will Dracomon be able to do that. It was so cool, and I hope to see a little more of it." Sam smiled happily at the thought.
