Chapter Sixteen: The Crest Of Darkness

The group all surrounded the Shadow Reigners. Magnamon X looked somewhat afraid, but Antylamon seemed to have more than a few tricks up her sleeve.

As the group closed in, Digimon standing before humans, Antylamon noticed something in her hand shining.

Whatever it was, it didn't matter at this point in time. 

Antylamon turned to see Garurumon and Kaez staring her down. The light intensified slightly. Antylamon closed her fist around the light to muffle it. No distractions could appear in a fight as important as the one about to ensue. 

"I swear, the things that some Digimon use their lives for bewilders me," Kaez said, shaking her head. "Take her, Garurumon."

"Howling Blaster" Gaurumon yelled, fire flying from his mouth. It struck its target true, sending Antylamon into a nearby wall. The light became less bright, as if one was lowering the glow of a lightbulb. 

"You're just a big bully!" Sam told Antylamon from next to Coredramon. The rabbit had the unlucky fortune of landing near the duo.

"Blue Flare Breath!" Coredramon shouted. Fire went smacking into Antylamon once more. 

This was unbelievable for the Shadow Reigner. She was getting thrown around by a couple of champions, and here she was...ultimate level!

Meanwhile, Jimmee was closing in on Magnamon X. He smirked from Arresterdramon's side.

"You know, I never liked Digimon who picked on girls," Jimmee growled.

"And I do whatever this guy wants. Mach Flicker!" Arresterdramon yelled. He and Magnamon X  became engaged in a fist fight, and no advantage lasted more than a second or two.

Antylamon was currently slumped against the wall. Anna towered above the creature from Kyubimon's back. "How low can a Digimon go to achieve their goal? I find that the deeper you sink, the more fun this fight becomes." Anna's face became plastered with a smirk. She blinked serenely, and Kyubimon lept forward for an attack.

"Fox Tail Inferno!" Renamon yells, the fire on her tail striking Antylamon. The rabbit was forced thdrough the ground and onto the next level of the building.

The light in her claws vanished entirely, fading into obscurity. Whatever it was reacting to was no longer nearby.

From above, Mikemon and Raegan were debating their next move. "Arresterdramon needs our help, but we may end up hurting him in the fight!" Raegan exclaimed, voice trembling.

"Well, regardless of this, we have to do something, and I'm doing it now!" Mikemon yelled, jumping from her side. "Neko Claw!"

Mikemon scratched at Magnamon X. His blow landed on a spot without armor. The Digimon cried out in pain. This was embarassing. Why here when none of the others were present?

Ayame jumped down to Kyubimon's side. Peckmon followed. "I think that this guy needs a few more lessons before we let him go," Ayame smirked.

"I couldn't agree more." Peckmon lunged for Antylamon. "Spiral Claw!" His leg wheeled through the air before hitting Antylamon in the stomach. The rabbit got the wind knocked from her breath for a second. She gasped in surprise.

Couldn't they just back off for a second? Apparently, such luck did not exist.

Maia ran to Kaez. Even amidst a battle, she still hadn't quite had a good conversation with her 'sister.'

"Sis," she whispered under her breath. Angemon flew behind her. Even a grin was on his face.

Garurumon turned in joy. He smiled as broadly as the Digital World itself.
