School opened early, but classes didn't start for another. Fumiko Kurosawa and Terriermon were two of the only three people in the school, the other being Gennai.

Fumiko walked into her office, Terriermon perched lazily atop her head. The majority of her hair was black, but the bangs were spiked to her left and a bright blonde. She wore blue jeans and a purple sweater-currently zipped up-with red sleeves. Fumiko's brown eyes scanned the room. She had gotten dragged off by Terriermon the day before. The rabbit Digimon had claimed to be 'homesick,' so Fumiko went along, but not before much argument between DigiDestined and partner.

"You sure are up early."

In the doorway to the office stood another girl, as Fumiko had forgotten to shut the door. The girl had black hair down her back, slightly longer than Fumiko's. She had crystal clear blue eyes and a white beanie. She wore black pants and a blue sweater.

"I could say he same thing to you, Tay."

Fumiko could remember her name from the lengthy introductions the day before. The girl was impressed. Fumiko could tell by that satisfied grin on her lips.

"Well, Fumiko," Tay began. "What brings you here?"

"A 'homesick' rabbit that's probably asleep on my head."

At this remark, Terriermon lifted her head. "Huh-yes?"

"I don't know about you," Tay said, "but I'm curious about what Charlie did yesterday. She wouldn't stop telling me about it. Digivolving?"

"They got little...phone things too. Let me guess. You wanted to find out about those too?" Fumiko assumed.

"'They?'" Tay asked.

"I heard from Izzy that Raegan pulled it off too," Fumiko explained.

"I'm just hoping that a Digimon doesn't attack when Ms. Perfection 1 and Ms. Perfection 2 aren't here," Tay muttered.

"I'm too tired to fight," Terriermon groaned from Fumiko's hair. She was using the spiky blonde part as a pillow.

"Speaking of which," Fumiko realized. "Where's your Digimon?"

"Behind the door, silly."

A dog Digimon stepped out from around Tay's feet. It turned out to be a Salamon.

"Cute little thing," Fumiko smiled.

The Salamon looked irritated for a second. "I am not a 'thing.'"

Salamon then seemed to forget her irritation. She looked into the hallway down to the right.

"Oh!"

A gasp came from outside. At the same time a beeping noise echoed across the room. Fumiko and Tay glanced around frantically trying to find the source of the sound.

"Can you tell the alarm clock to shut up?" Terriermon grumbled.

Fumiko's eye fell on the desk. A dark yellow object-the same one that Charlie, Raegan, and Ayame had-was vibrating and beeping noisily.

Fumiko picked it up as Ayame became visible in the doorway. "Fumiko! Tay! I-I didn't know you were here."

"We could say the same thing," Tay said.

"Why are you here?" Fumiko asked.

"I-I-" Ayame stammered.

Before the other girls could force an answer out of Ayame, everything flashed red.

"Last time this happened..." Tay began.

"There was a Digimon attacking!" Fumiko exclaimed.

"Then let's get going!" Ayame exclaimed. She grabbed Fumiko and Tay's wrists and ran to the front door.
