Chapter Thirty Four: Trouble in Toy Town

"What a sweet little picture. It's funny though. Love and Sincerity have always matched well. And now they'll fall together as well." Lilymon X smirked, a perfect line on her face. She didn't seem to care that she was about to attempt to kill two innocent kids.

"Digivolve, you two!" Charlie yelled in panic.

"LOPMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...TURUIEMON!"

"FALCOMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...PECKMON!"

"Thousand Beaks!" Falcomon shouted immediately, lunging for Lillymon X.

"Flow Cannon!" Lillymon exclaimed, thrusting her cannon forwards. When Peckmon was in just the right spot, she fired, sending the bird flying.

"We're at a serious disadvantage since the others aren't here," Ayame whispered.

"I know. But a digivolution will hopefully save us, since we both have our crests," Charlie said. But deep down, she was just as terrified as her companion.

"Gauntlet Claw!" Turuiemon screamed, scratching at Lillymon relentlessly.

Lillymon X sighed, unaffected by the scratches. "You people are so pathetic." She grabbed Turuiemon's arms and tossed her across the grassy area.

Turuiemon wasn't ready to give in quite yet, though. She grunted through the ache in her back, not willing to lose this fight. Peckmon lunged at Lillymon X again, preparing an attack. The bird wasn't ready to back down either.

"Kunai Wing!" Peckmon yelled, sending a whirlwind of feathers at Lillymon X.

The fairy sliced her hand through the air, splitting a majority of the feathers in half. She dealt a mighty kick to the remaining feathers.

Ayame breathed heavily. "Remind me to kill that fairy one of these days."

"I think I might beat you to it," Charlie told her friend.

"Strike Bomber!"

The girls turned to see Coredramon slam into Lillymon X from the side, and the Digimon went flying through the forest together.

"Sam!" Ayame shouted. The boy stood nearby. He smiled happily, eager to join the fight.

Sam dashed to Ayame and Charlie. "I'm glad you two are okay," he said with a smile.

Ayame nodded. "I'm happy we have a little more support against Lillymon X. Fighting a Shadow Reigner with only two Digimon when it usually takes twelve isn't the easiest thing in the Digital World."

Charlie laughed dryly. "Got that right."

Lillymon threw Coredramon across the field. "You annoying dragon!" Her cold, emotionless eyes fell on Sam. "Maybe I'll just have to remove the one driving this dino."

Lillymon X flew at Sam, a fingernail extended for his exposed arm. Her finger made a scratch on his arm, making Sam cry out in pain. "Take that!" she exclaimed.

Ayame wrapped her arms around the boy once Lillymon X flew skyward. "You okay?" she asked him in concern. Sam looked at her faintly before falling unconscious in her arms.

"What did you do!?" Charlie roared, her eyes flashing in anger and hate.

"I just made a DigiDestined X. Is that so bad?" Lillymon X smirked. "But did I mention that the X antibody is dangerous to humans? Maybe it is so bad."

Ayame felt anger build up inside her. Charlie held her back. "No. We need to stay in the fight. Without us, the crests won't go active and save our sorry lives."

Ayame nodded hesitantly. "Fine. But the second that the Digimon are out, I'm lunging for that overgrown vine of irritation."

"You and me both," Charlie growled in response.

"Blue Flare Breath!" Coredramon seethed, angry for his partner's fall.

Lillymon X prepared her cannon. "Flow Cannon!"

The attacks collided, but since Lillymon X was ultimate, she won out. Coredramon was sent flying, dedigivolving to Dracomon.

"Where is a digivolution when you need it?!" Ayame exclaimed. "We're getting trashed!"

Charlie noticed something. Her crest was glowing faintly around her neck. The more she wanted to pummel Lillymon X, the more it shined. Realizing this was her chance, she thought one thing over and over: bring Lillymon X down, bring Lillymon X down...

Charlie forced her eyes closed so she could focus harder. When she opened them, she saw muted colors. Knowing what was happening, she jumped for joy. "Yes!"

"Well done, Inheritor of Sincerity and Keeper of Generosity. You have earned this digivolution. Now, use that energy and combine it with that of your new partner, Antylamon!"

"New partner...?"

"TURUIEMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...ANTYLAMON!"

"Does that answer your question?"

The voice disappeared, and the colors returned to normal. Antylamon had replaced Turuiemon, smirking with new found strength. "It's about time that this fight finished."

Lillymon X smirked. "You have too much confidence, Antylamon. You have forgotten. Antylamon is one of the Shadow Reigners. I know what you can do."

Antylamon shook her head. "I'm afraid not. Because I have not been tainted by the powers of darkness. Bunny Blades!"

Antylamon spun through the air, a blur from speed. She rammed into Lillymon X, sending the fairy to the ground. Antylamon stopped, smiling at her prey.

"I see you underestimated me," Antylamon smirked in satisfaction.

"I'm afraid you may make the same mistake. Flow Cannon!" Lillymon X fired.

The attack hit Antylamon, but she didn't care. "Medication Cure." In an instant, all wounds were healed.

Lillymon's eyes widened in shock. "No..."

"Arm Bomber!" Antylamon's arm hardened, and she swung it forward. The attack hit the weakened fairy, and her data was sent skyward.

"She did underestimate me," Antylamon whispered, turning into Kokomon.

Charlie realized that she had felt somewhat faint during the fight. Energy rushed through her like a tidal wave, and she fell onto her back in relief. Being so tired and suddenly getting better felt great, but she was mainly happy that Lillymon X was gone.

"One...less Shadow...Reigner to worry...about," she told Ayame between breaths.

Ayame smiled her way. "If it weren't for you giving up your energy to Antylamon, it wouldn't have happened."

"So that's what happened," Kokomon whispered, bouncing closer. Dracomon and Falcomon weren't far behind.

"Is he going to be okay?" Dracomon asked, eyeing Sam.

Charlie nodded. "I bet so. He's a tough kid. He'll make it through."

But deep down, she had her doubts after what Lillymon X had said.
