POD stared at her hands. "Why did I do that...? I helped to defeat the final Shadow Reigner...!"

Dobermon stared down at POD from atop the throne. "You're a DigiDestined. It's only natural that you would help defeat an evil Digimon."

POD continued to stare at her hands. "I am...a DigiDestined!? But how? I make evil Digimon, not defeat them!"

Dobermon sighed. "You got this power when you were overly exposed to the powers of darkness. You used to be just a regular girl...Faye."

POD's hands flew to her head. "I was a person? Why don't I remember?!"

Dobermon sighed. "I don't know."

——-

"What the heck is this?"

A hand picked up a red Digivice.

"Why are you asking me?"

Another hand picked up a blue Digivice.

"Is this the kind of stuff Hibiki and his crazy friends freak out over?"

"I think so. But why would we have some of these? We don't have Digimon like the rest of the world!"

"You do have Digimon. It just took a while for you to realize it."

"Yeah! You can Charge Digivolve unlike most people!"

A gasp came from the room. "Charge digivolve...? What does that mean?"

"I wish I knew, I wish I knew."

——-

A blonde girl walked through the forest. "Gostumon...are you there?"

A rocky Digimon dropped down from a tree. "Yes. What do you need?"

The blonde girl held a yellow and green Digivice. "Do you know what this is supposed to be? I'm clueless."

Gotsumon gasped. "A Digivice!"

The blonde girl stared at Gotsumon with green eyes. "A Digi-what?"

"A Digivice! It means that you are a DigiDestined!"

"Don't know what that means either."

Gotsumon sighed. "We'll figure it out eventually."

"Does this mean that I have to fight evil Digimon?"

Gotsumon nodded. "Yeah, why?"

The blonde haired girl's eyes were overcome with fear. "I-I don't want to fight."

——-

Fumiko walked into her house, a new shiny, golden badge on her shirt. "I'm home," she called, shutting the door behind her.

Terriermon sat on her head. "Why do you always announce it when you come home?" he asked.

Fumiko shrugged. "Old habits die hard, I guess."

Fumiko and Terriermon went into the living room. Fumiko sat on the couch, and Terriermon jumped from her head to her lap. "Could you pet me?"

Fumiko laughed. "I guess, since I'm in a good mood."

Terriermon smiled. "Since you're in a good mood."

Fumiko turned on the TV with one hand and stroked Terriermon's ear with the other. She noticed the TV was set to the news channel.

"Monsters attacked the downtown area today! The Digimon Secret Police says that there shouldn't be any more attacks, but people are advised to do things with caution and call the police if you see any suspicious happenings related to the digital monsters," the news woman said.

"Hearing that the Shadow Reigners are gone on TV makes me feel even better than I feel already with being part of the Secret Police," Fumiko grinned.

"I agree," Terriermon said.

But little did they know, a pair of Digimon like eyes were watching them from the hallway, accompanied by a pair of human like ones.
