Ayame slid to a stop outside of her house. MailBirdramon was not happy as far as she could tell.

"Birdy! Looking for me?!" Ayame's heart pounded as she yelled up at him. Charlie wasn't there yet, so Ayame desperately hoped she would show. Ayame didn't want to admit it, but she was afraid, terrified even. Maybe having Charlie there would bring a little more confidence.

MailBirdramon turned with a grunt. "You," MailBirdramon snarled.

Ayame laughed, pretending to be enlightened. "I thought you wanted me here, birdy."

MailBirdramon growled. he screeched and charged at Ayame. Ayame yanked out her Digivice and thrust it skyward. "Falcomon, time to digivolve!"

"FALCOMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...PECKMON!"

Peckmon lunged at the charging MailBirdramon. "Spiral Claw!" Peckmon drove his foot at MailBirdramon, and the giant bird landed right next to Ayame.

Ayame screamed. "Eeek! Peckmon, be a little more careful!"

"Sorry, Ayame," Peckmon apologized.

"Bunny Blades!"

Antylamon pounced on MailBirdramon and hacked away at the metal bird's armor with two knives. Only a few scratches were made.

Ayame whirled to face Charlie. "I need you to get the people in that house out. There should be just two."

Charlie nodded. "I'll leave Antylamon out here to help you fight." Charlie dashed inside the house. Luckily, MailBirdramon didn't notice.

"I can't believe you took this long to show up," Ayame smirked. "All the other Shadow Reigners had enough guts to face their fate head on. I guess you're just a little shrimp, MailBirdramon."

MailBirdramon pulled his beak from the ground. "You're the shrimp! You haven't defeated me after all of those pathetic attempts!"

MailBirdramon charged again, but Ayame was faster. The girl jumped to the side so she was right next to the bird's ear. "You are a wimp. You still haven't defeated the one who is supposed to defeat you. Just fight back, you little coward!"

MailBirdramon roared backwards angrily, now out of the ground. He growled and prepared another attack, but Antylamon grabbed his beak. The bunny swung the bird around like a rag doll and tossed MailBirdramon across the street. A dent was made in the road, and cars skid to a halt.

"I kind of think that we should dial it back a bit, you know, so the police don't show up and arrest us for disturbing the peace," Ayame warned.

"I know you were just joking, but now I'm partially concerned," Peckmon said, slightly humorous and slightly serious.

"Iris! Is that you!?"

Ayame groaned and turned to see Anthony and Sophie running closer. Charlie was close behind. "I knew you had a monster pet, but you fight them?!" Sophie exclaimed.

Ayame sighed. "Falcomon is not a monster, Sophie. And I did this four years ago, so I'm no stranger." Ayame wanted to add something about her siblings being Mr. and Ms. Perfect, but she didn't. Though sometimes she did find pleasure in the fact that her siblings didn't have Digimon and she did.

"What are we supposed to do, Iris? Our house is being blown up by a mega bird!" Anthony exclaimed.

Ayame turned and pointed at the nearest bush. "Go hide behind that. Charlie, we've got business to take care of."

Charlie and Ayame dashed off towards MailBirdramon. Peckmon and Antylamon were close by. "Thousand Beaks!" Peckmon shouted, pecking madly at MailBirdramon.

"This is hopeless! How are a bunny and an over sized ostrich supposed to beat that thing?!" Anthony asked.

Ayame whirled around and stared at them. "No. It's not hopeless. Stop being so negative, Mr. and Ms. Perfect."

Anthony and Sophie gasped. Charlie turned to see Ayame glowing. Purple light spread from her body. It hit Charlie, Anthony, and Sophie, and they all felt overwhelmed with hope and wonder.

"If we think that we can, we can win! So just leave this fight to Peckmon and I!" Ayame sounded so confident. Nobody had ever heard her sound that sure of herself, not even Ayame.

Time stopped around the glowing girl. "Keeper of Confidence, Inheritor of Love, you are about to achieve digivolution. You have sparked hope in all of your companions, as your crest ability dictates. Use this confidence to fight back and end MailBirdramon."

Ayame grinned. "Peckmon, it's time."

"PECKMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...CROWMON!"

Crowmon burst into the sky with a flap of his wings. MailBirdramon did the same. "It's about time we finished this," Crowmon said angrily.

MailBirdramon laughed, his voice sounding like nails on a chalk board. "Isn't that what you said at the beginning of this fight? Doesn't look over to me."

Antylamon pounced on the bird. "Bunny Blades!" She continued to hack away at MailBirdramon's armor.

"Fire Jewels!" Crowmon started firing flames from his wings. Antylamon jumped out of the way just as the attacks neared MailBirdramon. The flames scorched the bird's armor on contact.

MailBirdramon shrieked in surprise. "How?!"

Ayame laughed. "We're just doing what should have been done a long time ago: serving justice to the baka birds who deserve it." She shrugged and shook her head. "Deal with it, honey."

MailBirdramon growled. "You...!" He lunged at Ayame. Crowmon drove his foot into MailBirdramon's beak.

Crowmon let MailBirdramon's beak slam into the ground again. Crowmon narrowed his eyes. "Like I said, let's end this. Savage Emperor!"

MailBirdramon wasn't able to dodge. The attack hit true. MailBirdramon's data fuzzed as the attack struck. 1s and 0s flew upwards as the bird's figure vanished.

Crowmon and Antylamon became Yocomon and Kokomon respectively. Ayame scooped up her partner. Charlie did the same. "We did it!" Charlie exclaimed, dancing around in circles.

Ayame met Yocomon's eyes. "You did great, Yocomon. Thanks for all you did."

Yocomon blushed. "Awww, stop being corny, Ayame."

Ayame laughed. "Corny or not, that was still awesome."

"She speaks the truth!"

Anthony and Sophie were waking closer, clearly impressed. "I had no idea you could do that stuff, Iris," Sophie smiled.

"It was actually really cool," Anthony said.

Ayame blushed. "Thanks." She turned to Charlie. "Let's head back."

Charlie smiled. "Yeah. But you can't deny how epic that was."

Ayame glanced at Yocomon. "Yep. It was epic."
