Chapter Thirty Eight: Adios, Antylamon

Kaez, Jimmee, Natsumi, Hibiki, and Trey dashed around the block and into the construction site. It was still banged up from the fight between Charlie and Golemon. Construction workers fled as Virus Antylamon destroyed more and more of the block.

"Where the heck is she?! The girl came back to the real world! Just come out already!" Virus Antylamon thundered.

"Bunny brains!" Kaez shouted. Virus Antylamon turned. "I'm down here!"

Virus Antylamon smirked. "It's about time, Kaze!"

"Can't anybody pronounce my name right?!" Kaez snarled.

Virus Antylamon rolled her eyes. "It's about time we ended this. Treasure Axe!" Virus Antylamon created a large axe made of gemstones and swiped it at our heroes.

"Digivolve!" Kaez exclaimed

"GABUMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...GARURUMON!"

"GUMDRAMON, DOUBLE DIGIVOLVE TO...SUPERIORARRESTERDRAMON!"

"LABRAMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...SEARSARMON!"

"LIOLLMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...LEOMON!"

SuperiorArresterdramon brought back his fist. "Superior Combat!"

Virus Antylamon danced sideways to avoid the attack. "Missed me, missed me-"

"I AM NOT GOING TO KISS YOU, SHADOW REINGER FILTH!" SuperiorArresterdramon shouted, knowing how the rhyme went. Jimmee giggled from the ground. It was funny how Gumdramon made jokes about kissing and yet he hated it.

"Howling Blaster!" Garurumon exlaimed, shooting blue energy from his mouth. Virus Antylamon put her arms in front of her face and was sent flying backwards.

"Honestly, I don't even know how you kids are still alive," Virus Antylamon admitted. "I forced that blonde's spirit to be sheltered away so SkullGreymon could take over, and yet here you still are."

Anger bubbled in Kaez's stomach. "You did that to Ceya?!"

Virus Antylamon laughed. "I thought it was obvious. I am the Shadow Reigner of Darkness, after all. And I know your little secret, Kaez. It was the darkness behind that secret that attracted me to you."

Kaez bit her lip and looked down. She closed her eyes and felt tears well up in her eyes. Kaez whipped her head up, salty tears flying around her face. "You don't know anything about me!"

Virus Antylamon laughed again. "I know your little secret well, Kaze. And as a matter of fact, why don't we go tell your precious little sister dear all about it?"

Virus Antylamon crouched and flew through the air past our heroes. She didn't stop until an arrow knocked her aside.

"Tee Dia!"

Arrows flew from Seasarmon's mane. Virus Antylamon was pinned to the ground by the arrows in seconds.

"I'd like to see you mess with us now, bunny brain!" Natsumi shouted from Seasarmon's back.

"We have to keep Virus Antylamon from getting to the school! She could wreck it in seconds, not to mention catch all of our friends off guard!" Kaez's voice now had a fighting intensity to it. Jimmee hadn't heard her sound this dark and afraid in years... But then again, he hadn't reunited with her up until a couple days ago.

"In that case, let Wizardmon and I assist you with that!" Trey exclaimed. She pulled off her top hat and winked at Wizardmon.

Wizardmon gestured for everyone to head to the side of the street. "To the sidewalk, ladies and gentlemen. The T.I. is about to begin her act!"

Natsumi clapped. "Tuxedo Illusionist! Of course!"

"What is T.I.?" Jimmee asked.

"It's my stage name, silly!" Trey laughed. She swirled her hand over her hat slowly, gradually speeding up. Suddenly, she threw her hand in the air. Kaez, Jimmee, Hibiki, Natsumi, Trey, and their partners were now hidden from the plain eye. An illusion in the shape of the school was in the middle of the sidewalk.

"Now then," Trey said, walking to her friends. "Kaez, your Shadow Reigner, you activate your crest." With a flash of air, she pushed her top hat back on her head.

Kaez nodded. She closed her eyes and concentrated on her crest. I want to help, I want to help...

Time slowed down for everyone but Kaez. She knew what was happening, so she started shouting, "Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes!"

"Keeper of Harmony and Inheritor of Darkness, it is my pleasure to fight alongside you and take down this idiot bunny!"

Kaez laughed. Sounded like something Jimmee would say. She became serious after a few seconds. "I'm ready."

Kaez felt her chest warm. Her crest levitated above her neck. "Garurumon, let's do this."

"GARURUMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...WEREGARURUMON!"

WereGarurumon jumped out of the light that had encased Garurumon. "I do think it's about time this bunny was ended. Wolf Claw!"

WereGarurumon scratched at Virus Antylamon wildly. The bunny was now confused, as the school illusion was just a facade, just the front. With no insides, there were no people to spill a secret to.

Virus Antylamon screamed as WereGarurumon's claws cut into her. She tried to whirl around and attack, but a kick to the stomach stopped her. "Superior Combat!"

Virus Antylamon was thrown into the concrete, creating a large crater. She groaned and held her hand as she sat up. Dizzy, she didn't even see Leomon coming down on her. "Beast Sword!"

The sword hit Virus Antylamon. She was nearly done for.

"Electro Squall!" Wizardmon tossed a cloud at Virus Antylamon. The bunny was hit deeper into the ground at the attack.

"It's about time this finished. Garuru Kick!" The final blow came from WereGarurumon's direction. The wolf kicked Virus Antylamon down so hard, her data fuzzed and spiraled skywards.

All of the Digimon glowed, with the exception of Wizardmon, and shrunk down to their rookie forms. WereGarurumon went to in-training and bounced over to Kaez. "We did it! No more Virus Antylamon!"

Kaez scooped up her partner and spun around, holding him gently. "I can't believe it, but we don't have to worry about bunny brain anymore!"

"Hey Kaez, what was that secret Virus Antylamon was talking about?" Jimmee asked.

Kaez tensed up. She wasn't facing him, and was glad about that. She turned to look at him over her shoulder. "It's just that, a secret. Now, let's get back to the school. There's business to be taken care of."

And Kaez didn't say another word about the secret for the rest of the battle against the Shadow Reigners, trying to ignore the fact that Maia may leave her just after they came back together.

We're getting closer to the end of the story now, so there is a chance (not for sure, just a chance) that I'll go on hiatus for my other stories until this one is done. Not decided yet, just a heads up.
