Chapter Forty Seven: Just Another Fight...Or Two

The groaning in the area was just as loud as the screams of the people. The townsfolk just wouldn't shut up. Digimon groaned everywhere, whether the cause be the screaming hurting their ears or the fact that Garudamon X had tossed them around like rag dolls.

"Like I said, I hate the way that this is going to turn out, and the fight's only been going on for ten minutes," Kaez said.

Jimmee pulled SuperiorArresterdramon to his feet. "I think that this is going to be ugly too, bu-GOSH, WHAT DID YOU EAT FOR BREAKFAST, SUPERIORARRESTERDRAMON!?"

"I think we can assume one thing about digivolution: it makes everyone heavier," Tay announced, watching Jimmee nearly fall over when trying to help SuperiorArresterdramon.

"Rapidmon, you think you could attack this guy again?" Fumiko asked her partner.

Rapidmon nodded. "I can try." He turned to face Garudamon X. "Tri-Beam!"

The attack did indeed strike Garudamon X like planned, but it didn't have the regular effect. Instead of the bird's data fuzzing and fading, Garudamon X just stood there.

"You can try all you want, but only one can defeat me, as programmed by POD," Garudamon X said. His eyes narrowed in the direction of Hibiki and Leomon. "Shadow Wing!"

Darkness covered Garudamon X's outline. He forced the dark forward so it was flying at Hibiki and Leomon.

Instead of being swallowed by the shadows, Hibiki gripped his crest on his chest. Light shot up in a column around himself as well as his partner. Hibiki smirked. "Good luck with 'darkness,' birdie."

When the darkness faded, Hibiki stood next to Leomon, smirking evilly. "This is what happens when you mess with us without knowing what you're getting into," Leomon said. A hint of satisfaction was shown at the tips of his lips.

Garudamon X soared high into the sky. Fumiko stared up in confusion. "Where is he going? We're down here!"

Trey tossed her top hat in the air and caught it. ShadowShakkoumon was blasting illusions wildly, almost robotic looking. "What do we now?" Trey asked, catching her hat after another toss.

Raegan shrugged. "I never thought I'd say this when an evil angel robot was attacking the city, but I don't know."

"Chances are you've never thought about this situation at all," Kyle told her. "I know I haven't."

Ayame had gotten out a few people that were trapped under rubble in the magic shop. She walked out to join the group. "What now?"

"ARGH!" Charlie groaned. "Why does no one have any ideas?! If somebody asks that one more time-"

"What now?" Kyle asked with a smirk.

Charlie hit him in the arm, and the blue haired boy just laughed.

"I could always make an over sized illusion that gives us cover to call for back up," Trey suggested. She pulled on her hat.

Ayame nodded. "That seems like a good enough idea."

Raegan cracked a crazy grin. "You gopher it!"

Charlie stared at her in a way that said 'what the heck does that even mean like gosh that's really weird.' Trey also stared, but with a smile. "You come up with bad puns."

Raegan grinned childishly (so basically like she always does-OW! Raegan, this is not the time to hit the author!). "I know I do."

Trey pulled off her hat with a flourish. She swirled one hand above the opening in the hat before throwing it upwards. With that movement, a building that looked like the school was created from thin air. Trey motioned to her friends when ShadowShakkoumon noticed. "Let's get out of here before angel robot man thing notices we're gone." Charlie walked slower than everybody else, so Trey turned and faced her. "What I'm trying to say is...MOVE IT YOU BAKAS (idiots) THAT THING IS OUT TO KILL US!!"

The sentence startled the others into running as fast as possible until back up could be reached. While ShadowShakkoumon continued to attack crazily, Beastmon, Astamon, Wizardmon, Antylamon, and Crowmon also made a run/fly for it.

Surprisingly-yet luckily-ShadowShakkoumon didn't notice the escape.

Garudamon X went into a dive at Hibiki and Leomon. Fumiko pounced on Hibiki while Rapidmon did the same for Leomon. Garudamon X slammed into the street. He had missed, since there wasn't a smooshed DigiDestined underneath him.

"Thanks," Hibiki whispered at Fumiko. "Now, could you get off of me?"

Fumiko rolled off oh him. "Sorry."

Rapidmon got off of Leomon. "Duo attack?" Rapidmon asked.

Leomon nodded. "I could go for that."

The two ran/levitated towards Garudamon X, who was just now steadying himself from plunging into concrete. (I bet he ended up with a pretty bad concussion there, if Digimon can get concussions, that is)

"Fist of the Beast King!" Leomon exclaimed. He sent orange energy flying at Garudamon X.

"Rapid Fire!" Rapidmon shouted. Missiles flew from his arms and back, making their way into Garudamon X's feathers.

Garudamon X flinched at the attacks. "It could be worse," he whispered. "The Leomon could have digivolved."

Leomon smirked. "What about we make that nightmare a reality?"

"You couldn't," Garudamon X scoffed.

Hibiki smirked and ran to Leomon. "Wanna bet?"

"I hate running," Charlie groaned.

"I don't see any other choice," Kyle told her.

"There you guys are!"

Cerberumon was running closer, Natsumi on his back. Sam, Anna, Maia, Ceya, Tsukaimon, Patamon, Renamon, and Dracomon were close behind, though they didn't have the speed advantage Cerberumon and Natsumi did.

"Sweet! Back up! And we didn't even have to call!" Trey grinned.

"You guys need some help?" Ceya asked, assuming so from Trey's statement.

Ayame nodded. "Yeah. ShadowShakkoumon the stupid won't stop attacking. He just keeps blasting Trey's illusions like nobody's business."

"Can you guys digivolve?" Maia asked.

"It's not like we've digivolved twice in the past hour or anything, including getting tossed around like dolls," Dracomon answered sarcastically.

"I'm going to take that as a yes!" Charlie exclaimed. Dracomon hit her in the arm half-playfully.

"Then why are we still here?! There's a creep out there blowing everything up!" Trey shouted.

"Then let's go!" Anna said.
