Chapter Forty Five: You Thought It Was Over

Natsumi groaned as she rode on Seasarmon's back. Sure, she had only fought two Shadow Reigners and just heard about the others, but she could tell they were pains. The new three Digimon had continuously been shouting something about being Shadow Reigners as Maia had said when she arrived. Natsumi had not been put in the best mood at the fact that there were more Shadow Reigners.

"I seriously wish that the Shadow Reigners would just call it quits," Sam told Natsumi. Wingdramon had been flying near the ground on Sam's request so he could talk with his friends.

"I agree," Anna said. "Can't they just go and take their anger out on a digital tree for once?! Why do the bad guys always go to take over the world?! It gets old! Seriously!"

"I couldn't agree with you less, Anna," Ceya sighed. "Sometimes, that stuff does get repetitive in the slightest."

The Digimon all slid to a halt. "There he is," Maia whispered.

Ahead of them, a Cyberdramon was wildly destroying a block made comprised entirely of apartment buildings. People fled every which way. Flames graced the tops of a few buildings. A few fire trucks were attempting to put out the flames, but to no avail.

"Gosh! I know I said Digimon should take their anger out on objects every once in a while, but an apartment block is not what I had in mind!" Anna exclaimed. Taomon set her on the ground.

Sam and Ceya dismounted their bird partners. Maia was set down as Natsumi jumped from Seasarmon's back. "Who's Shadow Reigner do you think this is?" Natsumi asked.

"It has to be either yours, Hibiki's, or Trey's. As of right now, I don't think there are any hints to who it is," Maia replied.

Cyberdramon turned and smirked. "It's about time my target showed up."

Sam narrowed his eyes. "Correction (A/N I just punned XD): it's Natsumi's."

"Why the heck is a ShadowShakkoumon attacking anyways?! Just because it's fun!?" Ayame asked.

"What could be 'fun' about destroying a magic store?!" Charlie questioned.

Trey whimpered. "It's my favorite magic store where I buy a bunch of props for my illusions."

Kyle smirked. "Why don't you make an illusion of you, Hibiki, and Natsumi, a few yards distance between them? I have an idea."

Raegan playfully hit his shoulder. "You sly dog, Kyle."

Charlie leaned over to Ayame. "Could they pick another time to flirt?!"

"They're not flirting," came Ayame's response.

"They are," Charlie said.

"Not."

"Are."

"Not."

Raegan put one hand on Ayame's mouth and the other on Charlie's. "Not time time!"

Trey rejoined the group after creating her illusion. She watched as ShadowShakkoumon turned to face the illusionist's illusion. (I could have magician, but Trey claims that she is not an illusionist.)

"Looks like we just figured it out," Kyle said.

"That means that Garudamon X is looking for Hibiki," finished Fumiko. She had just gotten off of the 'Digivice' (AKA the phone) with Kyle and Sam.

"I didn't think I'd have to deal with one of those jerks," Hibiki groaned.

"Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!" Liollmon whined.

Tay frowned at Liollmon. "I don't know how you deal with him."

"Frankly, I don't under stand either," Hibiki smirked. Jimmee and Kaez giggled.

"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiibiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" Liollmon continued.

Tay frowned even deeper. "Like I said."

"Sun's Courage!" shouted Seasarmon. Cyberdramon didn't even flinch at the attack.

Sam groaned. "Why are the villains always so resistant to good guy attacks?"

Anna shrugged. "I don't know, Sammy."

"Let's hope that Seasarmon will digivolve and tooooooooooootally save us," Ceya said.

"What the heck?!" Yatakaramon asked after an awkward silence.

Ceya turned away. "I don't care what anybody thinks about that. I stand by my words."

"You stand by your ridiculous words, you mean," Anna corrected.

"Stop with that! Cyberdramon knows we're here! So just focus!" Maia exclaimed. She pointed at the dragon Digimon.

"Cyber Nail!" Cyberdramon shouted. He lunged forward and attempted to scratch our heroes in one swipe.

All of them ran/flew out of the way. Ceya pulled out her Digivice in one swift motion. "Courage and Friendship Charge Digivolution!" Ceya turned into SkullGreymon in seconds.

"I don't think so!" Cyberdramon said. "Cyber Nail!"

The attack hit SkullGreymon right across the chest. SkullGreymon reverted back to Ceya, who groaned. "Stupid! Let's try this again! Courage and Friendship Charge Digivolution!"

This time, the digivolution went through without a hitch. But when SkullGreymon tried to move after the transformation, she cried out in pain. The scratch on her chest was deeper than she thought.

Cyberdramon kicked SkullGreymon's stomach. The dinosaur went flying backwards, turning into Ceya once again.

"Ceya!!" Yatakaramon exclaimed. He grabbed the girl in his claws and flew her to the ground.

"We have to take this guy down as fast as we can!" Maia shouted.

"I agree!" Natsumi nodded. "Seasarmon!"

"Sun's Courage!" Seasarmon sent arrows flying towards Cyberdramon, who wove in and out to avoid being hit.

But one of the arrows struck his chest, and with the limited movement, more arrows hit Cyberdramon.

"Whoop!" Sam exclaimed. He started jumping in excitement. "Go, Seasarmon!"

Cyberdramon ripped the arrows from where they were embedded in his armor. "Foolish children!"

Cyberdramon started approaching the group, and when he was stand just above them, the last arrow was ripped from his arm.

"We're toast," Anna gulped.

ShadowShakkoumon's attack pierced the illusion, making it vanish on contact. The hit continued to strike the magic shop's window, shattering it into a thousand pieces.

Raegan winced. "That's gotta hurt."

Charlie nodded. "Let's hope nobody's in there."

"Speaking of which, I'll go make sure nobody got hurt. You guys keep on with the fight," Ayame said.

Kyle and Trey nodded as the girl sprinted into the store through the hole in the wall.

Garudamon X held BlackRapidmon in one hand and FrozenAngewomon in the other. Leomon was dazed in a pile of rubble. WereGarurumon helped him to his feet as SuperiorArresterdramon charged Garudamon X.

"I hate how this fight is going to turn out already," Kaez muttered.
