Chapter Fifteen: Former Glory Restored

Jimmee panted as he ran behind Anna. Renamon was so far ahead she was almost a speck. Sam and Dracomon were breathing heavily from behind. Gumdramon was having trouble keeping up.

"Can you...tell us...what this...is about?" Jimmee questioned.

"Kaez is in danger. For all we know, the others could be too," Anna replied, unfazed by the sprinting. She still hadn't mentioned the threat to Jimmee personally, not wanting to scare Sam out of his skin.

"It's about time!"

Anna slid to stop. Raegan, Ceya, Charlie, and Ayame were sprinting closer by the second. Their partners were flying or atop heads. When they stopped, the joy on their faces was so great it seemed unreal.

"Kaez is back, isn't she?" Ayame commanded.

"Yep. And it's going to be a duel to the death with the Shadow Reigners to get her back," Anna replied darkly.

"She's fell into the Shadow Reigners' hands?!" JImmee exclaimed.

"Yep. And in order to have even the slightest chance of rescuing her, it's going to take everyone together...Kyle, Tay, Maia, and Fumiko." Anna answered.

"Eliminate Fumiko from that list."

Angemon was coming closer with Maia in his arms. "She was captured by them."

"No," Raegan whispered, hands flying to her ears. "No more...I don't think I'll be able to stand the loss."

"We can prevent it if we get going," Ceya said impatiently, tapping her foot.

"You have a solid point," Renamon agreed.

"Then it's about time we took the fight to the Shadow Reigners," Jimmee suggested. "With me?"

No objections came. The spriting fest continued, as destiny awaited at the end of lengthy run.

Fumiko groaned as she pushed up from the ground. Antylamon sure could throw hard.

She looked up to see shadows. Not much else was visible in her position.

As her eyes adlusted to the darkness, she noticed a pair of figures. Terriermon was on her head, so it couldn't have been him...

Fumiko crawled closer, shaking the larger figure. The smaller one sat up at the same time.

"Wha...Fumiko!"

Fumiko turned to see Gabumon next to her, half asleep. "It's me. This Kaez?"

"Yeah...it sure has been a while," Gabumon answered.

"Too long if you ask me!" Terriermon exclaimed. Anger was easily heard in her voice.

Kaez groaned before sitting up in front of Fumiko. "That...was the opposite of nice," she muttered.

"Kaez!" Fumiko and Terriermon exclaimed in unison. Kaez cracked a grin, though it was unseeable in the darkness.

"It's me. But where are the ohers?" Kaez asked.

"I'm not sure about them. I was with Maia when Virus Antylamon showed up and got me and Terriermon," Fumiko replied.

"Terriermon and I," Terriermon corrected jokingly.

"We have bigger issues than grammar right now!" Gabumon exclaimed.

"Seems we've arrived," Gumdramon pointed out. A metal castle stood before them threateningly.
