"I kind of like you like this. It's less weight on my head," Fumiko commented, Gummymon snuggling into her hair.

"I think that Terriermon is better because it gives you shade," Gummymon retorted.

Ever since BlackRapidmon had been defeated, the group had been walking for Infinity Mountain so they could hide in it for the night. The beach had simply been too exposing, especially since four Shadow Reigners had caught them there.

Kaez had been leading them. She knew her way around well, having lived on File Island for four years. Gabumon walked next to her on one side and Maia on the other. Patamon sat on the former's head.

"When we get back to the real world, you're going to go home, right?" Maia asked.

Kaez nodded. "But on one condition: we pull the strings needed to get you back as my sister."

Maia turned away to hide her obvious blush. Kaez noticed, but Maia hated it when people pointed out her reddening cheeks. "I agree."

Raegan was grinning from a few feet behind them. "You two are so cute!"

Maia whipped around, her face red. "You...were watching that?"

Raegan giggled slightly. "Yep. And you two really do care about each other. It's wonderful."

Kaez smiled. It felt great to hear someone say that about her and Maia for the first time in what felt like forever.

Kaez paused. The others did the same behind her, the chitter among them silencing. "Here we are."

"I see why this place is called Infinity Mountain now," Anna breathed. It was rather breathtaking. The highest peak seemed to pierce the clouds.

"I remember there being a Digi-Egg here four years ago," Ceya recalled.

"Hey, you're right!" Tsukaimon realized.

"It's not here now, though," Kyle said. "We took it long ago."

"If this reminisce fest is over, I'm kind of sleepy," Jimmee stated flatly, rubbing his eyes.

"I think I may faint here and now if we don't get to bed," Gumdramon agreed with a yawn.

"Before we go in, there's a tree right out here that grows some food if you get hungry," Kaez said, pointing to a palm like tree with orange banana shapes handing from it.

"Thanks. I may go for a snack myself," Tay told her. Kaez nodded, shrugging it off.

The group tiredly limped into the cave as Sam spoke. "I think we did good today. More digivolutions, got out of the Dark Ocean..."

"I think we may have slept through a day with the whole Dark Ocean fiasco. My stomach is acting like we did," Charlie cut in. She walked to the tree before twisting a fruit off and popping it into her mouth.

"Even if that's true, we defeated two Shadow Reingers today," Dracomon pointed out.

"Those guys sure do make a girl tired," Ayame commented, laying down in the cave. "Night."

Anna, Jimmee, Maia, and Kaez followed her lead and laid down as well. The remainder of the group ate some of the bananas before doing the same.

Tay didn't realize how tired she was until she closed her eyes. They felt like hundred pound weights from all the excitement.

-----

When Tay woke up, her stomach was growling. Maybe she did need more of the bananas. Gatomon noticed she was awake and perked her ears up. "You should learn to be a little quieter."

Tay noticed she had stepped on a twig, cracking it. "Sorry, Ms. Super Ears."

Gatomon opened her eyes and stood as well. "I'm awake now. Might as well eat a bit more."

Tay took the cat in her arms and walked out into the open. The night was starry and not a cloud was in sight. It seemed wonderful, almost dream like, compared to the excitement that had wound its way into her everyday life.

Tay heard a flutter above her. She looked up to see the outline of a bug Digimon hovering overhead.

Tay gasped and pulled yet another banana off before dashing back into the cave. Her foot fell on a stick, snapping it in two.

The bug looked down to see nothing. Tay had already ducked into the safety of the cave.

"I see what you mean about me quieting down," she whispered to Gatomon.

The bug swooped down effortlessly. Light fell upon his face, revealing his identity as JewelBeemon.

Tay tapped Fumiko rapidly. The girl awoke slowly, and Tay grabbed her wrist immediately, yanking Fumiko toward the back of the cave.

JewelBeemon glanced into the cave. He saw nothing, as the shadows feel upon the DigiDestined and their partners.

Fumiko looked at Tay, barely able to see her outline in the darkness. "What is going on?"

Tay clapped her hand over Fumiko's mouth. "JewelBeemon is here."

"Isn't he...?" Fumiko began.

"A Shadow Reigner? Yes," Tay finished in panic. Not just any Shadow Reigner...her Shadow Reigner.

"Who's is he?" Fumiko asked, reading her mind.

Tay wished she hadn't asked, knowing how transparent she would be when answering. Raegan and Kyle would've known instantly, so she almost was happy they were asleep. "Mine."

Fumiko bit her lip to keep from gasping. She watched JewelBeemon fly away.

Both girls let out a sigh of relief. Gatomon was silent. She moved Terriermon, waking her, before covering the bunny's mouth.

"Shadow Reigners," Gatomon whispered into Terriermon's oversized ear. The bunny caught on immediately, nodding silently.

JewelBeemon seemed to hear, pausing mid flight to turn and watch the cave. the quartet willed themselves not to move, to be still for the time the bug was present.

The Digimon seemed to think something was wrong, so he stared into the shadows without blinking. He wished for light at that moment, but knew it wouldn't come. So instead, he landed and began walking further into the cave threateningly.

Tay bit her lip. No screaming at this point in time. JewelBeemon was right there....

Another step towards the group nearly put Sam under JewelBeemon's foot. He ended up missing the sleeping child by inches.

A snore came from Gumdramon's direction. JewelBeemon smirked in the nonexistent light. "Hello, my DigiDestined."

Now was the time to scream. Wake the others, win the fight. Staying alive seemed pretty important too.

Tay felt like her life was flashing before her eyes. It was time to go to the last resort.

And with that, she screamed.
