It was an hour till I met Kara, I took a shower and decided on what to wear. I didn't have lots of clothes so I took a pair of jeans, a blank shirt and my favorite jacket. I got a text from Olivia "I put all your stuff in storage, you can come get it when you find a place, I was careful with it”. I sighed and used my superspeed to run to Noonan's. I was a few minutes early so I sat outside and waited for Kara. She arrived and I greeted her "You look nice" "Thank you Jason" "So you ready?" "Yep, I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long" "I got here 5 minutes before you did"
I took Kara inside and we sat down at a table for two, a waiter came up and we ordered drinks. Kara started a conversation "So, why work at Catco? What did you do in Central City?" "I was a cop in Central City, the lead detective. I just wanted a change of pace, and I had some experience that makes me more than qualified for Catco." "Why did you move here?" "I, uh, woke up from a coma and found that my girl was cheating on me. I moved here for a fresh start, don't got much with me right now, but once I find a place I'm gonna go pick up the rest of my stuff" "That sucks, i'm sorry for you" "Thanks, but um, what about you, tell me about yourself" "I am Ms. Grants assistant, I'm a huge nerd, and that's about it" "Huge nerd, I am too" "Hahaha, that's a really good Yoda impression" "Thank you, I know a lot of impressions, most of them are accents though" "Can I hear some?" "Not right now, maybe later, this place is a bit public for some of them, there nothing bad, I just don't want anyone to get offended by them" "That's very thoughtful of you"
I talked with Kara until we were finished at the restaurant. I reached for the check and so did Kara "Nope, I got this one, hands off m'lady" "I got it, you just said earlier, you don't got much right now, let me get this one" "I invited you"
I kept one hand on the bill and my other one reached to take a sip of my drink. I choked on it and let go of the check, Kara took this as an opportunity to pay and take the check to the bar. "You okay" "Yeah, just went down the wrong tube" "I hate it when that happens" "You should've let me pay" "Well all my friends say I am incredibly stubborn" "Couldn't imagine why" "me neither" "Thank you for dinner, so what do you think, we're gonna work out?" "Yes, I think so, I can help you move in this weekend if that's okay?" "Yeah, um okay, I can go get my stuff from central city and then we can do that. So, um, where do you live by the way?" "I'll just show you"
Kara smiled and we left, she took me to her apartment and showed me around
"Well this is the place" "It looks… whimsical" "What's that supposed to mean" "Heh, no it looks good" "Thanks" "So, I think I could live here" "I'm glad" "Well I actually got to get going, so see you tomorrow" "You too, what time are you gonna get here?" "ten?" "Ok, see you then, bye Jason" "Bye Kara"
Once I got out of her building I ran back to my hotel using my superspeed. I called up my friends at Star Labs and asked them for help on controlling my powers. I eventually wanted to get the hang of them and use them to help people. Cisco said he's been working on a sort of tutorial for me, it would train me and tell me how I would need to adjust day to day life to keep my powers in check. I would basically need to eat more food to combat my high metabolism. I could also throw lightning, run on water and buildings, phase through objects, run through time, and do other stuff. I would need training to master them all. I needed to make another call, it was to an old friend from high school. "Hey Bruce It's Jason" "Jason, buddy, long time no see" "I need your help, i'm in gotham, I need some help with tech" "Ok, yeah I can help, meet me at Wayne manor" "Ten four, see you there"
I hung up and speeded off to Wayne manor, I knocked on the door and Alfred answered. "Hi Alfred, I told Bruce I was stopping by" He stepped aside and motioned me inside. "Mr. Wayne is waiting for you in the kitchen" Alfred said and I went to the kitchen "Hey Jason whats up" "Nothing much" "I heard you got out of that coma, why didn't you come see me sooner?" "Olivia cheated, and I'm moving to National City" "She did what? I'm going to go kick her ass" "Don’t Bruce. So, I've been doing some research on Batman. I know he's you" "Thats funny" "I'm serious, your suit has Wayne tech written all over it. Batman showed up when you got back from Nanda Par-Bat, and I remember you saying something. 'If I was ever a vigilante I'd want my enemies to share my fears, you fear bats. Also, Batman has a connection to James Gordon, just like you" "I need to show you something"
Bruce led me to a wing of the manor and took me to a secret elevator that led to his high tech cave. In it were several batsuits, the batmobile and the batwing. Along with other bat tech "And they call me the world's finest detective" "Well maybe they are mistaken, Bats" "Don't call me that" "Sorry" "So what did you need help with"
I used my superspeed to run to the kitchen and grabbed an apple, I put it in Bruce's hand and went back to get a glass of water. I stopped in front of Bruce and said
"That, is what I need help with" "What, how is that possible" "The reason I was in a coma is I got struck by lighting caused by a particle accelerator explosion, it exposed me to dark matter and mixed with some chemicals I was knocked into, nine months later I woke up and could do this" "So what do you need help with, I'm not equipped to train you" "I need a suit. At the speeds I run my clothes can catch fire, that's not good. I want to be a vigilante like you eventually. Help people, be a hero, but I need a suit. I was drawing some ideas for cosmetics and ideas to help me" "What have you come up with" "I can run on buildings so I need a cape to glide down if I need to, kind of like you, but the cape needs to retract into the suit, it would cause too much drag when I run. Safety measures like an Oxygen tank too. I run on water so it needs to be friction proof, needs a HUD and a tracker. That's just some of the stuff I thought of, I brought the schematics I made. Also I have an Idea for some micro tech that could let me fit it inside of a ring, easier than carrying around a bag" "This is interesting, I can do it but I need Lucius Fox's help." "OK, when can it be ready" "A few hours, you should be able to take it and get back to Central city by 4 am." "Sounds good, you got combat simulators, I could use the training." "Yep, over there"
Bruce pointed over to somewhere else in the battle and I went to train combat. Lucius arrived and they got started. A few hours later they were finished, I tried on the suit
