Jason: The Origin (Book 1)

Midvale

    Kara showed Alex and Maggie the ring, about an hour later we were nearing Eliza's house, the house I grew up in. We were on a street surrounded by trees, the warm sun shining into the car, 'Take on Me' by Aha playing on the Radio. After a few minutes we arrived. Everyone got out. Jason grabbed all the bags. There were a few between the four of us, Jason brought his in a backpack and I had a small suitcase. Alex and Maggie shared one. He also got the last few presents.

    Jason set all the bags down. We were all sleeping In me and Alex's old room. Me and Jason were going to share a bed and same with Alex and Maggie. I sat down. Eliza was talking to Maggie and Alex. Jason came and sat next to me "Hey" He said "Hey" I said back. "I didn't get to meet your father Jason, but I know he was a good man, he raised you. I'm so very sorry for your loss." Eliza Said "Thank you" Jason said back. We all visited and then I took Jason to the back porch. I made lemonade and we sat outside, watching the beach.

"I would have loved to grow up here"
"It's nice, and It didn't suck to be so close to the beach."
"Sure beats bouncing around foster homes."
"I bet"
"Can we go to the beach later?"
"Sure"
"Totally not using this as an excuse to see you in a bikini"

    Jason said that last part and took a sip of his lemonade like nothing happened. I smiled, he was funny. We sa mt for a bit and then we went to my room to change for the beach

"I like the room"
"So do I, but It could be weird sharing it with Alex sometimes"
"Oh I bet"

    I took off my ring so I wouldn't lose it and I put on a white bikini with flowers, and a white cover up. Jason put on swim trunks. They were red and white candy stripes with blue palm trees on them. He put on a matching Grey shirt with an American flag on the back, the grey of the shirt being the white. We walked down to the beach with Maggie and Alex. We had a private section of it to ourselves, so we didn't have to worry about our powers.

    Jason ran back to the house and grabbed some towels and chairs for all of us, setting them near the water. He ran back and got two small tables to put with each set of chairs. He also got umbrellas. But he set them down instead of putting them up. We had fun there. We played Frisbee. Jason and I won, we didn't use powers. We built sand castles. Jason used his speed to build A giant one. The detail was immaculate. We went in the water. Having a chicken fight. Me on Jason’s shoulders and Alex on Maggie's. Alex won since I couldn't use my powers. Jason had a strong stance but Maggie kicked his legs out and we fell back. "That's cheating," Jason said when he stood up. He shook the water out of his hair. He looked hot with no shirt, and the wet hair was a plus.

    I splashed him with water and he turned to me. Splashing me "Aah" I squealed, It may be winter but it wasn't cold in Midvale. I got into a splash fight with Jason, both of us ending up soaked. I got out and sat down in the sand, watching Jason. He flew out of the water and used his freeze breath to create a path from where he was and the sand, spanning about 20 feet. I had a feeling I knew what he was about to do. He took a few steps back and ran at the ice, human speed. He put out his feet and slid on the ice. He slid to the end and fell into the water. I chuckled and stood up. Alex went to try. She slipped and fell, sliding on her butt the rest of the way. I tried it next. I used my flight to give me a small boost, it was very fun. I fell into the water, soon after Maggie did too. 

Eliza Pov

    The kids all went to the beach. I was glad they were all happy. I got up and went to the back window. I saw Jason sliding on his feet on top of an ice bridge. They were all acting like kids. I didn't mind. I was just glad they found love. Especially Kara. I was afraid she wouldn't since she was kryptonian. I chuckled when Alex slipped and fell on the ice. I sat back down and watched TV

Kara Pov

     I got out and Jason ran to get us drinks. We all sat and talked, drying off. We may have been in our 20s but we were all acting like kids today, no worries in the world but what we were gonna eat for dinner. Jason got up. "Walk with me" He asked, offering a hand. I grabbed it and we started walking. I chose the direction since I wanted to show him something. We talked a bit too

"I've really enjoyed being here"
"I'm glad, It's nice being able to share my childhood home with you."
"It really is great here, I forgot how much I loved the beach"
"Yeah, that trick you did with the ice was really cool, how'd you get the Idea"
"Frozone from the incredibles"
"No, you cannot be serious"
"I am, The splash fight reminded me of a vacation I was on. I was at the beach and then I went to the movie theater to watch incredibles."
"Interesting"
"Wanna know the best part of this?"
"Spending time with my fiance"
"Ooh, that still sounds weird."
"Well don't get too used to it because pretty soon your gonna be called Kara Danvers-Morgan"
"Now that's got a ring to it"
"It does."

    We arrived at a cave. It was small but I knew that people went here to make out when I was in high school. We walked inside and sat down. Jason kissed me. I kissed him back. We went on for a while until I heard Eliza saying dinner was ready with my super hearing. I told Jason "Race you back" He said and stood up. Getting out of the cave I stood next to him. "3" He said "2" I said "One" we said together and sped off. Jason and I stopped at the chairs. "I win," He said, "You try to be the fastest man alive," I said and we walked into the house.

Jason Pov

    I walked into the house. Me and Kara went upstairs to change. She put her ring back on and then we walked back downstairs and sat down at the table. Eliza made dinner. We ate, talking and laughing. After Kara said she wanted to give kza her gift. We moved to the living room. Eliza sat in a chair. Alex and Maggie on the couch and Me and Kara on the ground. Kara handed Eliza her gift. It was a puzzle of Eliza's favorite picture of her, Alex, Kara, and a man I'm assuming was Eliza's husband and Alex's father.

    "Oh Kara, I love it" Eliza said and hugged Kara. "Its from Jason too" Kara said and I smiled. "Thank you two" Eliza said, looking between us "Mine next mom" Alex said and handed Eliza a bag. It was a necklace. Eliza thanked Alex and Maggie. Eliza went and got four gifts. She handed one to Kara, Alex, Maggie and me "You didn't have to get me anything" I said "I wanted to, take it Jason'' Eliza said and I did "Alright, open them" Eliza said and I ripped the wrapping paper of mine. I opened it to a framed picture of young Kara. "I thought you should have a picture of young Kara" She said. Kara looked embarrassed "So she was always cute?" I asked and everyone chuckled. Kara got something she made from her childhood. Alex got an old record from her favorite band. Maggie got a pair of sunglasses. We all thanked Eliza and I got up. I asked Alra to go watch the sunset. She said she did and I flew us up to the roof. Sitting on it. Kara sat there too and we watched the sunset

"Eliza really likes you"
"I'm glad"
"So what's your opinion of Midvale"
"Its very, hallmark level small town"
"I didn't take you for the hallmark type"
"Some of them are okay, they just get repetitive"
"They can"
"You wanna know the prettiest part of Midvale?"
"Sure"
"You"
"Smooth"
"I know"

    We talked and eventually the stars came out. We went to Kara's old room and went to bed, my arms around Kara. I woke up the next morning and Kara was gone. Alex and Maggie were still asleep. I walked out to the balcony and found Kara looking through a telescope

"That's a cool telescope"
"Yeah, its Kenny's"
"Who is Kenny"
"Just someone I used to know"
"Well, what happened, are you guys not friends anymore"
"Kenny's dead"
"Oh, i'm sorry I didn't know"
"Its okay, how could you"
"So, what happened"

     Kara went into the story about how she was friends with Kenny. She left after meeting him in the woods and the next morning they found his body. She and Alex found the killer and Kenny's parents gave her the telescope.

"So, you solved your fist case at 16"
"Yep"

    We talked for a bit, but we had to leave. I packed the car and we said bye to Eliza. I drove us back and the four of us stopped for lunch. We ate and then went home. I went out to buy a suit that day. I slept with my arms around Kara, not ready for what would happen the next day. I woke up the next morning. I had planned for my dad's funeral to be before lunch so I got ready. Kara did too, I didn't feel like using my speed today. Kara had on a black pants and a black sweater. A black coat on too. I had black pants with a black shirt, tie and blazer.
