Jason: The Origin (Book 1)

Earth Birthday

    I spent the next few days getting used to the DEO. There was always a rogue alien to take down or something about Star Wars to talk about with Winn, or another game night, or another kiss between me and Kara. Today was Kara's earth birthday. I had wrapped her a gift that I planned to give her later, it was a framed photo of me and her leaning against each other on Eliza's roof while watching the sunset. She didn't know but I set up a camera before we went up there. I woke up next to her, she was already awake, reading something on her phone. "Happy earth birthday girl of steel" I said "Alex to you didn't she'' Kara asked and moved her legs to straddle me. "Yep, now I actually have the whole day planned out." I said "Oh yeah?" Kara asked softly, I couldn't quite make out what she was feeling. "Yeah, it's gonna be a lot of fun" I said and Kara kissed me. "I bet" she said darkly. I finally figured out she was feeling lust. I kissed her and scooted back in the bed, my back against the wall. We made out hard for several minutes.

    I was kissing Kara passionately when my phone rang. It was a reminder to start getting ready incase I was still asleep. "We're gonna beat the movie," I said and Kara pulled away. "I think we can spare a few more minutes," Kara said and I smiled. I grabbed her and sat up. She squealed, "Now Ms. Danvers, If we don't start getting ready for the day we're going to miss the day that your amazing boyfriend spent time planning out for you." I said in a British accent. Kara chuckled and we got ready. "The beanie is very cute by the way" I said and Kara smiled.

    We arrived at the movie and got snacks, candy for both of us, drinks and a large popcorn to share. I didn't tell Kara the movie yet, I waited for it to be a surprise when the movie started playing. n guy told us the theater and we went. We sat through the previews. She saw Will Smith on the screen with a hair due that told her "Aladdin, I've been wanting to see this since the trailer dropped." Kara whispered. "I know" I said and kissed her cheek.

    The movie ended and I took her to an arcade. We got some pizza for lunch there and then waited in line for laser tag. I thought of a Star Wars quote appropriate for now "Your either with me, or your my enemy" I said in an Anakin Skywalker impression. Kara chuckled "For this game im with you" Kara said. We both grabbed team blue vests. The game started and I ran to cover where I could peek my blaster put and shoot. I shot a test shot to see the accuracy, spot on, I looked at Kara and motioned for her to move forward. She did and I walked forward as well. I heard footsteps behind me and turned to see a kid, he didn't see me yet. "Hi," I said and shot him in the chest when he turned, his vest flashed telling him he died "Bye" I finished and he walked off. I knew the enemy team was holding a position I sneaked up and got behind cover. I switched my blaster to full auto an said to myself "I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of bubblegum" I stood up and walked in "Adios" I said and shot everyone inside, four kills. "Impressive" Kara said when she caught up. I saw someone sneaking up behind me, I waited for a clear shot and quickdrawed my gun to take out the kid. The lights brightened "Game finished, please return to the exit" A voice said and we did so. It displayed the stats. I was the map of the game, seven kills, the person next to me had four. 

    We played another game. This time I played for red and Kara played for blue. I did what I did last time, I saw some people so I shot at them, racking up two kills already. I moved to the catwalk on the upper level to get a vantage point. I saw some kids and managed to get 6 more kills, finishing off all but one person, Kara. I was crouched and I was moving quietly, listening for footsteps and looking for movement. I heard steps behind me "Tell those kids I said hi" Kara said and I ducked behind cover, she did the same. We traded shots for a while. Kara seizes fire, she had to reload. I ran at her and slid, making it hard for her to hit me and I hit her square in the chest "Tell them yourself" I said and blew the fake smoke coming from my blaster.

    We went back to the table and I got us both some icees. We sat and drank them

"You were really good in laser tag"
"Kids are loud, east targets"
"You still did good Mr. Detective"
"You were good too"
"I'm still a bit mad you killed me"
"You should have shot me when I had my back turned"
"Probably"

    We talked and then did Arcade games after we finished our icees. Kara went to a dance machine, she was good at it. I went to a racing game after Kara forced me to play the dance game with her. I finished the race and then we did skee-ball, then basketball, then we did a simulation of like a roller coaster where you sat in a chair and it would shake to simulate what you'd be feeling.

    We played games for a while, racking up tickets like it was nothing. We eventually ran out of game tokens and decided to cash in our tickets, together we had 10,000 tickets. I let Kara use them since it was her earth birthday and I always thought arcade prizes kinda sucked. Kara got a giant teddy bear. We ran home and changed into some more dress up attire. I took Kara to a nice restaurant.

"Thank you for today Jason, you've made it very special"
"I try"
"Do or do not there is no try"
"You did not just quote Star Wars."
"I did"
"I love you"
"I love you too"
"But guess what, the day is not over yet. I still have to give you your gift when we get home"
"What might it be"
"Well find out after dinner won't we"
"We will"

    We talked through dinner. Kara forced me to let me put her card on the bill. I wrote a note on the paper. "Don't charge the card that says Kara Danvers. Charge Jason Morgan ONLY" I said and handed it to him. Casually pointing to the note so as not to alert Kara. She would have fought me over it. I walked Kara home, we didn't fly or run. I wanted to enjoy the walk. We talked along the way. "Ooh, it's cold out here" Kara said about halfway home. I took off my Blazer and placed it on Kara's shoulders and put my arm around her. She leaned into me and we walked home in comfortable silence.

    Me and Kara changed into more comfortable clothes. We sat on the couch and Kara snuggled up to me. I put my arm around her and handed her the gift I got for her. She took it and tore off the wrapping paper. Kara looked at the photo. I edited it to make it look better. "It's beautiful," Kara said, "You're beautiful," I said and kissed Kara. She kissed me back and after a few minutes stood up. She grabbed my hand and led me to the bedroom.
