Jason: The Origin (Book 1)

New Friends?

"Hi Guys" I said and they all greeted me, Alex with a hug and they all went to sit on the couch. A few minutes later Jason came out of his room "Hi" He said "This is Jason, my new roommate" everyone greeted Jason and he sat down. He learned everyone's names and told them a bit about himself. I could tell Alex was a bit skeptical, she was a bit overprotective of me. Eventually the pizza arrived and everyone sat down at the table. Alex started interrogating Jason

"So why did you move here Jason"
"I uh, needed a fresh start"
"From what"
"People I knew, they weren't who I thought they were, needed a fresh start, not to mention I was in a coma for a while"
"What out you in the coma?"
"Weather accident, lightning"

    That surprised everyone, Me too, I didn't know lightning put him in a coma. Alex continued asking questions

"What did you do before you moved here?"
"I was a detective, lead detective, I had a nickname, Call of Duty. I was given it because no one else could do what I could, at least not as good, they all thought I was a video game character. Not to mention I had a thing for putting attachments on my AR-15"
"Interesting, Call of Duty. I work for the FBI, I always liked the AR-15 too. Close second was M4"
"I agree, what's your sidearm?"
"Glock 19"
"Same, but you still can't go wrong with a classic 1911"
"No, you can't"
"So you said attachments? What do you put on?"
"For the AR, extended mags, a slanted foregrip, laser and flashlight attachments, hybrid sight, it's got a holo sight and a 3x scope, I kept the standard stock and put griptape on the handle."
"Sir you are speaking my language"
"I also out on a extended barrel with rifling and a muzzle attachment that gave it more stopping power and range"
"I need to try that out, what about the pistol"
"Extended barrel and rifling, better muzzle, extended mags, selector switch so I can have, semi-auto, 3-round burst, and full-auto, grip tape, laser and flashlight, and a red dot sight"
"I like this human"

    I laughed at what Alex said and so did everyone else. I'm glad Alex and Jason are getting along, she was the only one that may have had some problems with him. We all talked into the night, making jokes and most people talked with Jason about things they liked, including wine, courtesy of lena, photography, courtesy of James and Alex and John talked to him about fighting, and his past as a detective.

    Everyone left and I asked Alex to stay back, Jason looked at us and knew I wanted to talk to her. "I'm gonna go work on my room" He said and left.
"I'm not sure about him"
"I like him Alex, he's a good friend"
"Mmmhmm"
"What"
"No I just noticed the way you looked at him all night, does Kara Danvers have a crush?"
"Maybe"
"I knew it"
"You can't tell him"
"I won't, if I talk to him it's probably just be about guns, or a shovel talk"
"Alex he doesn't need a shovel talk"
"Ok, fine, maybe"
"Alex"
"Ok, just be careful with your extracurriculars, he was a detective remember?"
"Yeah, I know"
"Be careful with him overall, from what he told me I'm guessing he was cheated on, so just, he may be a but fragile for a bit"
"Ok, thanks Alex"
"Bye Kara, Love you"
"Love you too"

    Alex left and I went to Jason's door and knocked "Come in" He said and I opened the door

"It's looking good in here, how'd you finish so fast?"
"I've decorated quit a few rooms in my past, bounced around alot as a kid, never really stayed in the same dorm in college"
"Hmm, so everyone really likes you"
"I'm glad, I think I'm gonna get along with them"
"Me too"
"Yeah"
"Do you wanna watch a movie?"
"Sure, just let me do a couple more things in here and we can get started"
"Ok"

Jason Pov

    Kara left my room and I smiled, I liked her, and I'm glad I got along with her friends and family. There was some furniture in my room so I put my clothes in and hud my flash ring. I hung up my jackets and finished putting some of my stuff up. I walked out of my room to see Kara on the couch with a blanket. She was watching Riverdale. I knew she laughed at my other impression so I tried another one when a Jughead line came up "Sardonic humor is just my way of relating to the world" I said in my best Jughead voice. Kara laughed and paused the show
"Have you seen this before?"
"Yeah, its my favorite show"
"Mine too"
"Your on the first episode"
"And so far, its my favorite show"
"so you like teenagers getting murdered in small towns, great"

    I saw Kara space out for a second, her eyes looked like she was remembering something I sat on the couch next to her and put my hand on hers

"Kara, you there?"
"Yeah, sorry, I just remembered something"
"What was it"
"Well when you said that earlier it reminded me of my town growing up, one of my friends was murdered"
"Shit Kara in sorry"
"No it's okay"
"I'm sorry"
"Its okay Jason really, so you ready for the movie"
"Let's just keep watching Riverdale"
"Okay, you better not spoil anything"
"I won't"

Kara Pov

     I pressed play on Riverdale and me and Jason watched it together, I gave him some of the blanket and we sat together, our legs touching. I liked the contact so I didn't move, and neither did Jason. I know I just met Jason but it felt like I've known him forever. Like we were friends in a past life or something.

    I looked at my phone a few episodes later. It was 2am. I didn't realize the time, or that Jason's arm was around me, I felt it and remembered I put his arm there. "Hey Jason it's 2am, we should be getting to bed" I said "Its okay, I'm a night owl I guess, we can stay up if you'd like" Jason said "One more episode, it's the last one of the season" I said and turned it on. The episode ended with a gunshot at Pop's. "What! what happens?!" Kara exclaims and I laughed

"Please tell me what happens"
"You said no spoilers"
"Tell me"
"You'll regret it"
"TELL ME!"
"Okay, Jesus, Fred was shot"
"Does he survive?"
"Yes"

    Kara looked at me, and I looked at her, getting lost in her eyes again. I felt my arm around her and our legs touching. My feelings for her deepened. I knew neither of us wanted to get up but I knew we were both tired from moving my stuff all day "Alright well goodnight" I said and she got up, walking to her bedroom and I went to mine. 
"Hey Kara?"
"Yes Jason?"
"I just realized, I don't have a mattress"
"You can sleep on the couch"
"Thank you, i'll order a mattress tomorrow, I've got a busy day tomorrow"
"Indeed you do, and I can help if you want"
"I got it"
"I'm helping you, you have no choice"

    Kara walked back to her room and I went to the couch. I couldn't sleep. I was thinking about Kara, and eventually Olivia, I really loved Olivia, not anymore but it hurt, I saw a future with Olivia. It brought me to tears and I cried silently.
