Jason: The Origin (Book 1)

Nightmares

"Hunter? Hunter Zoloman? How is that possible you died?"
"Yes, I am Hunter Zoloman, but not from this world"
"What do you mean this world"
"You know that old theory about the multiverse?"
"It can't be"
"Oh it can, I'd show you, but, I don't think im getting out of here anytime soon"
"No, because you killed my dad, and plenty of others. Why did you do it, huh!? Why did you kill my dad!? What grudge do you have against me?"
"Heheheh, Your speed Jason. I'm sick, and the only way I can get better is to steal your speed."
"I'll never let you do that"
"Oh you will, once I get out of here your speed will be mine"
"That's the thing, your never getting out of that cell"
"We'll see about that"

    I scoffed and walked out. I needed to leave before I killed him. I went home and took my suit off. I was standing at the table by her kitchen, whisky in hand. I wished I could get drunk, but no thanks to my powers I can't. Kara came in. I didn't want to talk so I walked to the couch when she came towards me. "Jason don't do this, don't shut me out" Kara said. "I'm not going to, I just don't want to talk about it tonight. I'm still processing." I said I was tired. "Just let me finish my drink and go to bed" Kara came and sat on the couch next to me, leaning her head on my shoulder. I really loved her, more than words could explain. We sat in silence, after a few minutes I finished my drink and went to my room to go to bed. 

    I was up late, too many thoughts racing through my mind. I fell asleep eventually, Kara the last thing on my mind. I entered the dream world. I was at my dad's grave, he was next to my mom. They both burst through the ground, crawling and scratching at me. I fell over and the second I hit the ground I was in my flash suit. Zoom was standing in front of me, near a ledge, holding Kara over, she was being weakened by kryptonite. I couldn't see the ground from the ledge, meaning the fall would kill Kara. Zoom dropped her and I screamed and dove after her. I hit the ground too and I woke up. Bolting upright, covered in sweat. I let out a sigh and walked out of my room to check on Kara. She was okay, sleeping soundly. It was six in the morning, I couldn't go back to sleep so I grabbed a water from the fridge and cooled off. I sat on the couch and watched Iron Man 3, a movie I'd seen a million times. 

    The movie finished and Kara was still asleep. I put on the Captain America movie and watched it, it finished, Kara was still asleep. I watched the second Captain America movie. Kara was still asleep. I watched the third in the Captain America trilogy and Kara was asleep. I scrolled through channels. I passed over the old westerns channel and stopped. This was my dad's favorite channel. I watched it. After a bit Kara came out in shorts and a t-shirt, she saw me. Kara came and sat next to me on the couch

"What're you watching" 
"Old westerns, they were my dad's favorite"
"How long have you been up? You look tired"
"A few hours"
"What time?"
"Six"
"Why were you up at six?"
"Nightmares"
"About what"
"Zoom, my parents, you."
"What happened?"
"It was weird, my dead parents attacked me as skeletons, zombie things, and Zoom killed you. I died trying to save you. And then I woke up"
"I'm sorry"
"Whatever happens I won't let him take you. Whatever I need to do, as long as you survive"

    Kara kissed me, I missed the taste of her sweet lips, I missed everything about Kara. "I need to go see Batman" I said after pulling away "You still want to go?" Kara asked "Yeah, I just need to get away for a day. I told Batman I'd come today, you know I'm a man of my word." I said "I know, go ahead. Have fun" Kara said "I will" I said and got up. I showered and while I was getting dressed I called Alex.

"Hey Alex"
"Hey Jason, i'm sorry about your dad"
"Thank you, but, um, I'm headed to Gotham, you mind coming over for Kara?"
"I'll be there in 30, and Jason?"
"Yeah"
"Be careful. Gotham isn't known for its safety"
"I'll be fine, i'll be with Batman"
"Alright, bye"
"bye"

    I hung up and finished getting dressed. I said goodbye to Kara and ran to the Batcave. I got there and everything tried to shoot me. The bullets were green for some reason. They just bounced off due to my kryptonian powers. "Stand down. Authority Bruce Wayne" Bruce said as he came in he looked at me surprised. 
"How did you do that?"
"Do what?"
"That system senses kryptonians and is designed to take them down"
"Hold on, That's what shot  at Supergirl?"
"Yes, I can add something so that it won't shoot at you or Kara, but how did the bullets bounce off you?"
"Supergirl had to give me a blood transplant, her's was the closest match to mine because of the dark matter, now I have kryptonian DNA and powers, along with my speed."
"If your kryptonian, then why didn't the kryptonite affect you?"
"Those were kryptonite? Bruce why do you have Kryptonite"
"Superman contingency, I have a theory, hold still"

    Bruce went over and put on a gauntlet from one of his Batsuits. It had blades coming from it that had green on them

"Another kryptonian contingency?"
"Yes, hold still. The blades on my arms are made of kryptonite. If I attack you with them they should cut you"
"Hold on a minute"
"If I am right it will just bounce off, hold out your non dominant arm, i'll hit there so if I'm wrong and you do get hurt, it's not a limb you use a lot."
"I hate you"
"Shut up"

    I complied and Bruce striked me. The gauntlet bounced off.

"Now what did I tell you?"
"That I'm impervious to kryptonite"
"Yes"
"Thank you, that's good to know. But you will never use the kryptonite on Kara. If you do, answer me. And you only use it against superman if ABSOLUTELY necessary. Kara would never forgive me if she knew that I know you possess something to harm her or her cousin"
"Yes sir"
"What's gotten into you, you're normally so broody."
"I adopted a kid"
"No, just no"
