We got there, soon later everyone else did and we started. The pastor talked and then he asked if anyone wanted to say something. I walked to the pedestal where the pastor was and pulled out a piece of paper from my jacket. I placed it on the pedestal and looked at my dad's coffin, tears forming in my eyes, but I held the back. "My dad was, uh... he was... uh" I was choking, tight hangs squeezing my lungs and my heart. I couldn't breathe. All I could do was run, and I did.
Kara Pov
Jason was gonna talk about his dad. He couldn't so he sped off. I nodded at Lena and she went up to finish Jason's speech and I followed Jason. I followed him to the middle of nowhere, the place he went when his dad first died. He was leaning against a tree, struggling for air. I felt terrible for him. I could tell that he would never be the same. He saw me "Deep breaths okay? Deep breaths" I said and Jason started calling down. He started breathing. Struggled at first. His chest expanded and compressed in short bursts.
I walked to him and wrapped my arms around him. He sobbed into my shoulder. I hated that Jason was sad, but I was still thankful he felt it was okay to cry in front of me. I held him, letting him get all of his tears out. A few minutes passed by and his crying slowed to a stop. "Do you want to go back?" I asked and Jason nodded. We flew back and landed in our spots. Bruce was up there recalling a memory of him. How Henry helped him get through his own parents murder. And how both Henry and Jason were his friends. He told memories of them being goofballs, Jason's dad just letting them have their fun. Caitlin went up to, saying how he knew Henry was a good man. When Jason was hurt Henry was doing everything he could to heal Jason. People went around sharing memories. The ceremony ended and Jason walked to his dad's coffin. "I failed you. I'm sorry" Jason said and he then held his arm to me and we walked home.
Jason went in and sat on the couch. He put on His dad's westerns again and I went to change. I put on different pants and a sweater. Putting a brown Jacket over. I came out of our bedroom and Jason was still on the couch, the exact same position as when he sat down. I looked at the clock. Jason didn't have breakfast either so he must be hungry "Jason" I said, no response. I repeated his name, no response. "Jason!" I said louder. "What, sorry" He said and stood up, rubbing his eyes. "Do you want lunch?" I asked, "No, I'm not hungry," He said. This worried me. Jason was always hungry. He sat down and I went to sit next to him
"Jason, you have to eat."
"I'm good"
"I'm gonna force you to eat if I have to"
"I'm not hungry"
"So you want your usual at Noonan's"
"Can you get a Big Belly Burger?"
"Yes, I can"
"Thank you"
I flew to get lunch and came back. Jason had changed. We sat down and ate. I didn't talk much, Jason didn't either. I knew it would take some time for him to get through this. I knew I was angry when I first came to krypton. I had the idea to create a rage room, but instead of breaking toasters. I was gonna hang cars from the ceiling and he could use them as punching bags. I knew Jason, being who he is, would want to hit something, and drawing back his punches when he was the Flash wouldn't do the trick. I told him to meet me at an abandoned warehouse in an hour. I went there and set it all up. An hourater Jason arrived.
He ran in and stopped near me. He saw the cars hanging and my sleeves rolled up "What's this, you wanna fight?" He said taking off his jacket and rolling up his own sleeves. "I want you to fight that car. Well, say what your mad at and then you punch." I said and Jason stood in front of one of the cars, putting his fists up. "I'll go first. I'm mad that Kat Grant never appreciates me *Augh*" Jason went "I'm mad that I missed nine months of my life *Augh*" Jason said. I went again and so did he. Then me and then Jason went "I'm mad that you got hurt by Non *Augh* I'm mad that I almost died *Augh* I'm mad that Zoom killed my dad *Augh* I'm mad that everyone but three people in my life have either died or abandoned me *Augh*" Jason punched the car over and over. Letting everything out. He punched the car several times in a combo with the last word. He punched the last one with all his strength. His fist going completely through the car, poking out the other side.
He pulled it back through and looked at his knuckles. They were bleeding since he was still human-ish. "I'm sorry, I, uh, didn't know all that was there" He said embarrassed. He sat on the ground.
"I didn't know I had all this rage"
"Its fine"
"No, it's not fine. I've been bottling up my emotions for so long, I, ugh"
"I get it, and being able to do what we can do, we can't always afford to let our emotions out"
"I, uh, I'm sorry, I'm usually collected but, everything went to shit. You are literally the only good thing in my life right now"
"I'm sorry about what happened. You will always have me"
"Thank you"
Jason kissed me. I melted into the contact. Jason made me feel a way no one else has. I love him, but so much more. I put my ring back on, I had taken it off so it wouldn't get crushed while I punched. Jason looked at it and smiled. "I love you" He said "I love you too" I said and we went home.
