The Aftermath

Jason Pov

    I felt my stomach drop, I got physically sick. "Oh god" I said. I made sure John and Alex were okay. They were. I ran to my usual yelling spot and screamed. Death follows me everywhere I go. "I'm so sorry Kara'' I said, choking back tears. I ran back home and went to my room, I slept on my old bed in my suit. Kara's cape in my hand. I woke up the next morning. I ran to the DEO. I took Kara's cape with my glasses. I was gonna give it to Alex. I walked in, I could barely function. I couldn't imagine being without Kara.

    Alex saw me and ran over to hug me, she was crying. I was trying not to. "I'm sorry" I said and handed her Kara's cape. "Don't be apart, and keep that" Alex said. I sat down next to Winn.

"Hey man, you okay"
"No"
"I'm really sorry about Kara."
"I am too, don't talk to me anymore. All my friends die"

    I walked away. I got through the day and went back home, wishing I could get drunk. I heard a knock at the door. "It's open," I said. I wished Kara would come through that door. It was Winn. 

"Winn what did I tell you."
"You sounded like a guy who was sad his girlfriend died."
"No shit"
"I got something for you"
"Unless its Kara im not interested"
"What about a drink"
"Nothing on this world can get me drunk, not even at the Alien bar"
"This isn't a mass manufactured drink. This is a Winn Schott special, designed to get YOU drunk. But you only get one"

    Winn sat down and I gave him whiskey. I took what he gave me, I used music to cope with everything, I put on 'Be Alright' by Dean Lewis. It felt appropriate.

"Bottoms up, let's forget tonight"
"To Kara"
"To Kara"

    I drank it and I felt better immediately. Like everything bad about my life was suddenly dulled. I still missed Kara. After a while Winn left and I fell asleep on the couch. 

Kara Pov

    Barry and Cisco took me back to a place that looked exactly like star Labs. Caitlin came in "Not Caitlin '' I asked Barry shook his head. "So what do you mean by the multiverse." I asked, Barry walked to a whiteboard and drew a bunch of circles at the same time. "So there are infinite alternate earths in this universe, one where the Nazis won WWII, one where we were all evil, it sucks by the way. All of these earths are similar to ours but still dramatically different. All these earths vibrate at different frequencies, they never come in contact, but if you go fast enough you can create a breach to get there." Barry explained "So can't you just do that and get me home" I asked. "We don't know what earth you came from, and since this is the first your hearing about the multiverse, you don't know what earth you're on. We can find out but it'll take a bit." Barry said. "So I'm stuck here great"

    I walked out to the hall and sat down. Jason probably thought I was dead. "Hey" He said, sitting down next to me. I put my hand on his cheek. "You look so much like him" I said "I'm just a doppelganger of him, I'm not your Jason, He's still back on your earth, you're not stuck here." Barry said, taking my hand off his face.

"Yeah, so how long will I be here?"
"A few days, a week or two at most"
"Two weeks, can't your friend take me home, he creates those portal things."
"We have breaches here, but they don't go to your earth, and Cisco can't use his powers to go off world yet. Wait Harry"
"Who's harry?"
"Someone who can help."
"How"
"We need to reach him first, I'll send a message but it'll take a few hours to go through."
"Alright"

    I tried not to let my hopes get up, Barry led me to a room for me. I layed down, thinking of what Jason might be doing right now.

Jason Pov.

    I was taking the elevator to the DEO, I was still hungover, I thought I'd lule if I used my powers. Alex saw me, my face showing pain. 

"Are you hungover?"
"Yes"
"I didn't know you could get drunk"
"Me too"
"So how'd it happen"
"I'm sad about Kara so Winn made me a drink so I could get drunk, things went from there. I haven't had a hangover since about three months before my coma."
"Oof, are you okay though"
"Are you"
"No, but I want to know how you're feeling."
"Besides the hangover, I can't imagine her smile or think about her without wanting to scream or cry or both."
"I get the feeling"
"Have you told Eliza?"
"No"
"I want to be the one to, if that's okay"
"It is"

    I felt a buzz in my pocket, I got out my phone and pressed the pick up button, missing a few times.

"Hi"
"Jason, are you hungover"
"Yes, besides the point, why'd you call"
"Meet me at my office in an hour."
"Alright, bye Lena"
"Bye"

    I hung up, all the screens around were hurting my eyes. I groaned and went to Winn. "I need your sunglasses" I said and he gave me them, I put them on and the DEO became more bearable. 

"I made the drink, I can make a cure for your hungover too if you want"
"I deserve the suffering"
"No you don't"
"Yeah I do, she's gone, I should have seen it coming."
"Jason don't do that"
"The weirdest part is, Me and Kara were the same distance from the magnetar when it exploded."
"It's probably just her kryptonian DNA"
"I have it too, it should have been me, Kara is pure, and kind, and I'm just, me"
"Part of you us still juman Jason"
"You don't think I know that. See what you can do about my hangover and then I have to go see Eliza, I'll be in a sparring room, where its dark and there's windows and computer screens"

    I walked off, I sat in the dark and got out my phone, lowering the brightness. I looked through pictures of Kara and recalled old memories. I remember one day, I was at the apartment, dancing around, listening to music , singing my soul out, making a fool of myself. 'Sweater Weather' came on through my headphones. I was belting it, thinking no one was home. The song finished and I turned around facing the front door, Kara was there, looking at me with a smile, I pulled my headphones off. 

"Hey sorry, I didn't hear you come on"
"No, its okay, I like watching you sing, it's the only time I see you really happy"
"Its cause Im singing for you, and music lets me escape this fucked up world, lets me just be me, dance around shamelessly"
"You are a very good dancer"
"When my partner is a broom yes"
"Stop doing that!"
"Stop what"
"You always discredit yourself. You make yourself seem like you're one special, but I wish you could see you the way I do. As the most special person in the world, the man I love more than anything else."

    Me and Kara had walked towards each other, my hands were on her hips. I kissed her, wondering why Kara could love me, I'm just me. Kara is the girl of steel. I pulled out my phone and played the music out loud, me and Kara danced and sang into the night, no shame, no worries, just two kids having fun

Kara Pov

    I was laying in a cot when I heard an alarm, I flew to the cortex. "What is that for" I asked "King Shark is attacking." Barry said he put on his suit. The one that looked like Jason's before he changed it. "Do you want my help?" I asked. "The extra hands wouldn't hurt," Barry said and he ran out, I followed. We stopped in front of a giant man shark. "Sharks in shorts" I said. I punched him a few times, then I got an Idea, sharks are cold blooded, If i use my freeze breath right he should fall asleep. I carried out my plan and it worked. "Couldn't have done that sooner" Barry asked, holding his side. "Took me a second to get the idea," I said. Barry called someone named Leila from Argus and they came to take King shark. The girl in the suit came and talked to me.

"Leila Micheals with Argus, who are you"
"Supergirl, I'm not from around here"
"What's your real name"
"I'm not staying long so you don't need to know that"
"Where are you from"
"Not this planet"
"Alien?"
"Alternate earth"

    Leila looked at Barry who nodded. After everything was dealt with except my situation I flew back to Star Labs. I just layed back down and drifted off to sleep.
