Luke had always been an easy drunk.

At their wedding reception, Michael swapped their champagne for non-alcoholic one because he was a dramatic drunk person.

Karen and Daryl knew that as well but they seemed to forget just how easy it was for Luke to go from sober to wasted. The answer was three glasses of champagne.

It didn't help he didn't eat much that day, too afraid to not fit in the designer suit that was made just for him.

After the first glass he was tipsy. Saying hi to the celebrities that didn't walk the red carpet but still attended the even and called Calum twice to tell him about it. He knew Ashton wouldn't care.

When Michael's parents finally got Luke to sit down, they could only sit there and laugh at all the emotions Luke was giving them.

From laughing a bit too loudly at the scripted jokes of the hosts, to crying when Kylie Minogue was performing.

It took both of them to stop Luke from giving a standing ovation when Michael was called on stage to present the award.

In order to make him "decent" for the afterparty, Michael's parents made him drink a liter of water and eat the snacks Karen brought with her.

She didn't want to panic Michael but also didn't want him to be unprepared so she texted her son about the situation they were in.

Luke knew he needed to behave but his tipsy brain wanted him to say hi to every person he recognized from the industry and eat each type of food that was served at the afterparty and there was a lot.

Even when she told him there was nothing to worry about, Michael was still one of the first celebrities at the afterparty.

"Hi, guys," He smiled at them.

Both Karen and Daryl hugged him and congratulated him. It was his first public appearance since he went to rehab.

"Michael," Luke said enthusiastically. "You were amazing."

Michael laughed, gently grabbing Luke's elbow to stop him from bumping into people. "Thank you, but I haven't really done anything."

"You didn't trip up the stairs," Luke said with a serious tone in his voice. "That counts."

Michael laughed even harder.

"I always said, you should get a man that looks like this," someone said behind their backs.

It was loud enough for all of them to hear over the chatter and the music so Luke knew whoever it was, they were standing right behind them.

The look on Michael's face made him realize he already knew who the person was.

Luke turned around.
