"Hi, Michael. Do you want a cup of coffee?" Ashton offered.

♪♪♪

Michael looked wearily from Ashton to Luke. But it was Calum who made the first move.

"Oh, hi," Calum smiled. "I'm Calum," he walked over to Michael. "I'm a big fan."

Luke wanted to die inside.

Michael blushed and shook Calum's hand. "Thank you. I'm Michael."

"Yeah, I know. I've been to all of your Sydney concerts. You're great live. Can't wait for the next album and tour."

"Thank you," Michael said again.

He never said yes or no to Ashton, but the older man just pulled a chair and poured him a cup of coffee.

Michael sat down and looked at Luke. "Are you okay?"

"No." Luke bit his lip. "Thank you for calling Ash and sorry for whatever–"

"Nothing to be sorry for," Michael interrupted.

"This is good," Calum said, finishing Luke's food. "I know it was for Luke but he wouldn't be able to hold it down and it would go to waste."

"Calum, I think Michael understands he can't do anything wrong in your eyes."

Luke kicked Ashton under the table.

The silence that followed was excruciating.

"Calum, how did you meet Luke and Ashton?" Michael asked to break the silence.

"A funny story," Calum said, his mouth already full of more food he found in Luke's fridge. "I'm a real estate agent and I was helping Ashton sell his house. However, he got held up at work and sent Luke over to show me around. Somehow, we ended up locking ourselves inside the apartment and Ashton wasn't picking up his phone. Then we climbed through the balcony, police were called, we got arrested and the rest is history."

Luke hated that story, and still didn't forgive Ashton, but got an amazing friend out of it.

"Luke Hemmings? Arrested?" Michael laughed.

Luke blushed and Ashton frowned like he always did at Michael.

"How did you meet the boys?" Calum asked.

"I met Ashton first," Michael explained. "His stepdad played in a band that performed in my mum's bar. Then Luke started hanging around. Then it wasn't that long before me and Luke became a thing–"

Michael cut the story off too abruptly to be planned.

"It's okay," Luke said. "He knows."

Michael nodded. "Then the rest is history."

"He would never tell," Ashton said to calm both Michael and Luke down. "None of us would."
