Part 52: Hell's door

Winter vacation was a blur. Azami and Blane are getting close. Linda and Kiwi live in a dysfunctional peace. Everything seemed great. Until school started again.

Azami:"All clear!"

Sora:"Perfect."

Noemi:"Shinya will join us later."

Mei:"Have your dragon scales?"

Gene:"Yep."

Haku:"Let's just go before the rest of the students get to class."

The group left as usual to the dragon world. Hairi came out of her classroom at that same moment. She noticed them leave.

Hairi:"HEY!"

She opened the closet's door to find nothing. She stepped away and waited for the lunch bell to ring. She followed Shinya and stopped him before he could enter.

Hairi:"Shinya, we're friends right?"

Shinya:"Uuuuhh no."

Hairi:"I was just curious, you know."

Shinya:"About?"

Hairi:"About how you and your friends can go in the janitors closet and disappear. How do you do it?"

Shinya:"It's a secret."

Hairi:"What's that in your hand?"

Shinya:"NOTHING!"

Hairi wrestled him until she got the dragon scale. The portal was open for her.
Back at the kingdom.

Noemi:"I'm worried. Shinya should be here by now."

Haku:"This is really unlike him."

Misty:"Someone should go get him."

Sora:"Come on I'll go with Noemi."

Azami:"Wait, look."

In threw the entrance marched Hairi pulling Shinya by the ear.

Shinya:"OW OW OW!"

Hairi:"What is this!?"

Everyone took off to the entrance.

They surrounded Hairi and pulled Shinya away from her.

Hairi:"GET AWAY!"

Mei:"What should we do with her?"

Sora:"LET'S KILL HER!"

Lilith:"ARE YOU CRAZY?!"

Right on cue Kemper flew over.

Kemper:"Why do I get the feeling she isn't a friend."

Azami:"Because she isn't! She snuck in!"

Rogue:"What now dad?"

Hairi:"If I may suggest something."

Hairi threw a slap an Lilith making her let her guard down, giving Hairi and escape route.

Hairi:"YOU'LL BE SORRY YOU WERE EVER BORN!"

Sora:"WE NEED TO CATCH UP TO HER!"

Kemper:"NO!"

Everyone stopped.

Kemper:"It's to late. We must prepare. This is war."

Mei:"What if she doesn't tell anyone?"

Linda:"Let's go out and see."

Cecil:"Let's split. Half threw the entrance from Linda's house, half threw the school."

Sora:"Got it."

The group spilt and ran threw both entrances.
School entrance

Mei:"Sora are you sure it's here? It's still dark."

Sora:"Yeah, see here's the... What."

The door wouldn't open. Sora pushed harder. Nothing.

Rogue:"Let me try."

Rogue also tried. Nothing.

Azami:"Let me see."

Azami grabbed the wooden door, with a finger drew a tiny circle then pulled out the piece of wood for a peep hole.

Azami:"Our powers are here for a reason."

She looked in.

Azami:"We're in lock down."

Mei:"Lock down?!"

Mei looked.

Azami:"The school has been evacuated. The door is nailed down tight."

Rogue:"Shit. Let's hope the cave isn't shut down."

They ran back.
Cave entrance

Linda:"Sh."

Pacifica:"What?"

Linda:"Do you hear that?"

Noemi:"It sounds like helicopters."

Linda nodded and walked further.

Cecil:"Shit that light is blinding."

Pacifica:"I get its day time but come on."

At the end of the cave they were welcomed by searchlights and an enormous group of people. The cave opening was police crossed out.

Linda:"Fuck."

Noemi:"Fuck why? We can just say we were just stupid kids smoking weed or something."

Pacifica:"Because, Cecil has light sensitivity..."

Noemi:"What does that have to do with..."

Finally someone with a camera snapped a picture. The flash struck Cecil. She instinctively sprouted out her wings, covered herself behind them and let out a roar. The crowd went wild.

Linda:"RUN!"

They speeded inside.

Kemper awaited both groups.

Azami:"It's a no go. We're sealed in."

Linda:"At least it's empty over there. We were welcomed by a swarm. It's only a matter of time before they get in."

Kemper took a deep breath. He flew over to the top peek of the rocky mountain, and let out an earth shattering roar. The group covered their ears.

Mei:"WHY IS HE DOING THAT?"

Rogue:"IT'S THE ORDER FOR IMMEDIATE PREPARATION FOR THE WORST!"

Noemi:"WHICH IS?"

Stone:"WAR!"
