Incoherent

Part 56: Mei and Gene

This chapter will be narrated by Mei.

Me and Gene rushed to find a shelter for the kids. I was NOT letting Yuki and Kiwi get hurt. I ran into Mira on the way.

Mei:"WHERE DO WE PUT THE BABIES?"

Mira:"THERE'S A SHELTER INSIDE THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN. ON THE RIGHT COVERED BY AN ENORMOUS MOSS COVERED BOULDER. THEY'LL BE SAFER THERE! I HAVE TO GO PROTECT MY LAND!"

Mei:"YES QUEEN MIRA! WE'LL TAKE CARE OF IT!"

I have no idea why I just shoved that responsibility on myself. I always had a strong "mothers intuition". Thankfully Gene had a fatherly one. It works.

Gene:"LET'S FIND THE KIDS AND GET THEM OUT OF THE BATTLE FIELD!"

Mei:"RIGHT BEHIND YA!"

Gene might be a human but he knows what to do in these situations. For some reason his best audience is the babies so a few notes here and there and a good number of the babies crawled to him. Weird, but effective. Meanwhile I flew around and picked up those who were to far. In about 3 minutes we had them all gathered around the rock entrance.

We moved the boulder and I sat in front of the direct entrance.

Mei:"Pass me the babies!"

Gene:"Okay. Water baby. Kiwi. Fire baby. Yuki, hi sweety. Uuuhhh shadow baby. OW!"

Mei:"What?"

Gene:"The earth baby bit me!"

Mei:"Just hand him over!"

Gene:"Fine. Satan's spawn. Ice baby. Shinya. Vegetation b... SHINYA?"

Mei:"SHINYA WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

Shinya:"Noemi told me to hide here."

Gene:"He won't fit."

Mei:"Sure he will."

I shoved Shinya in the cave how I could. I doubt he was in a comfortable position but this is about surviving not comfort.
