Mid-February.
I.
San Francisco...
Diana could hear the cacophony of the pans and other equipment in the kitchen. The scent of eggs and bacon and even mushrooms was reaching her accurate nose. Smells are something that develop incredibly strong in pregnant women and Diana could smell things from far. Sometimes even before other people could feel it. She dropped her towel on the bed and ran to her wardrobe to choose her outfit for that day, and she smiled at the sight of her black CK dress that still fit though tight around her 16 weeks baby bump. She grabbed it from the hanger and threw it on the chair next to the chest drawer, where she opened the last drawer to grab a set of lingerie. Diana chose the red one from Calvin Klein as well. His fabrics were wonderful. She had turned quite sensitive and his fabrics were soft and gentle and still sexy. She put it on and then grabbed a black top with thin straps on her shoulders and lace around her collarbone area. It could not be seen, but it was winter and she wanted to feel more comfortable under the thick cotton dress. Before, she put on a pair of black tights and then run the dress over her head. It reached a few centimeters above her knees.
Diana then watched her figure in front of the wardrobe's mirror, turning left and right. She had not lost her vanity. She liked to look good for herself and feel comfortable for herself and she liked what she was seeing. Then, she stopped and ran both hands over her belly and a soft, gentle, sweet smile formed on her lips. She was so in love with her bump and the little creature inside her that she thought she was going to burst. She never thought mother's love would be unconditional like that. She would fight anyone or anything for her child. She would sacrifice anything. She would do anything. Anything at all. After her moment of appreciation for her new condition, she went back inside the bathroom to run a brush over her wavy blond hair and tied it on a pony tail. After, she put on her daily creams and a bit of glitter around her eyelids just to enhance her glare. Diana decided to wear no makeup that day and only poured some drops of her Moschino behind her ears and wrists after her morning routine was done. Before joining James in the kitchen, she grabbed her pair of diamond rings and the engagement ring from her nightstand and put them on. Her engagement ring was something she would not leave the house without ever since James put it on her finger on Christmas's Eve. Finally, she left her bedroom and as she reached the stairs, the noise was clearer and the smell more intense, but it only made her stomach rumble noisily. She was starving. When she entered the kitchen, James was busy cooking and it made her smile.
"Morning." Diana greeted James who was taking some bread of the toaster. He looked back at her as he heard her voice and smiled.
"Hey, babe." He said, feeling her arms wrap around his waist, her face appearing above his shoulder and her lips kissing his neck.
"It's quite a job you have done here." She said, pecking him wetly on the neck this time.
"Well..." He looked around and then shrugged. "Maybe I got a little carried away." He giggled and turned around, capturing her lips with his. "Now... this is a good morning kiss." James told her against her lips just to peck her again. "You smell great..." Another peck. "And you look great too." He told her, looking in her eyes. "And I love you."
"Me too." Diana responded, kissing him on the lips after her short answer.
"I hope you are hungry." James giggled and she nodded.
"Do you need help?" Diana asked as she pulled away from his arms and James grabbed a frying pan from the stove.
"No." He told her and then pointed at the table. "Everything's ready. I was just waiting for you."
