I.

London...

Megan was desperate. Unable to sit and wait, she just walked around in circles over and over again. It had been hours already and he hasn't come back home. She had tried to distract herself with a long shower and changing to sleeping clothes and after she tried to grab a book and read, to train her brain into faking everything was just a regular night, but it wasn't and she could not concentrate or remain quiet. She kept reading the same line over and over again and the way she found to cope with her nervousness was to walk around the coffee table, taking deep breaths. Sometimes pulling her hair from one place to another and others biting her nails. Sometimes trying to breathe properly and others trying to sustain her crying. Her heart kept beating fast as if it was trying to come out of her chest and her breathing was uneven. Megan saw the clock over the bar go around. She saw it mark 2 am, then 3 am, then 4 am... at this point, she threw herself on the couch and buried her head between her knees. The crying that she had been keeping inside was released and her shoulders shook as she sobbed low, desperate, and not knowing what was happening. Then, a faint noise near the front door made her raise her head and after the noise of a key unlocking the door was heard and she got up like a spring. As the door opened and she saw him coming in and she ran to him.

"Ben!" Megan breathed clutching onto his neck and burring her nose in his dark curly hair, inhaling his calming scent. "Ben..." She whispered again felling so relived he was finally back home.

"It's ok." He breathed, wrapping his arms around her waist, and pulling her close to his body. "Everything is fine my love" Benedict kissed her cheek trying to calm her down for he was hearing her heart beating incredibly fast. "Calm down, Meg." He whispered patting her hair. "I'm here. I'm ok."

"I was so afraid and so scared." She sniffed and Benedict pulled away, grabbing her face within his hands, and making her look at him.

"I am here." He told her. "Ok?" He then pecked her lips softly and pulled away to look back in her crying blue eyes. Megan nodded and cleaned her eyes with the back of her hands.

"What did they want?" She asked him.

"Let's sit." He told her, holding her hand. "Come." Megan followed him to the living room with her hand glued in his.

When he got near the couch, he sat and then pulled her to sit on his lap. His arms wrapped around her waist immediately and Megan wrapped hers around his neck. She leaned her face over his to kiss his lips, lingering for a while and then she pulled away.

"So?" She asked then feeling so anxious to hear some more details.

He shrugged. "They wanted to talk about Sylvia, telling me she is missing and that I am not doing anything to find out what is happening." He explained. "The same... it is natural..." Benedict added.

"And what did you say, Ben... this is getting dangerous." Megan responded.

"I told them that I was going to send some men to look for her." He said and their eyes locked in an intense glare. Silence reigned for a few seconds and then he leaned his head over hers, resting his forehead on hers, inhaling her soothing fragrance. "Everything is going to be alright." Benedict assured her.

"Are you sure?" She then asked him for Benedict always had an idea of how events would turn out, but he didn't answer and Megan grabbed his face between her hands and pulled his face away from her so she could look in his eyes. "You don't know?" Megan insisted. "Say something..."

"They cannot prove anything. No ancient can read my actions." Benedict explained. "Sylvia was handled in absolute secret within my property. It was me and Willow doing so, there is no way someone might know anything about this."
