I.
The day had been great. Diana got back home feeling exhausted and drained but at the same time rewarded with a new friendship. It was obvious that Pamela and she had connected in a very good way. They talked about so many things during the time they had spent together, and she felt at ease with her though she didn't say much about her personal life. It was more about Jack she avoided to talk about. She was comfortable with her life, but she didn't want to talk about Jack or think about him for that matter. Pamela had gone out with her boyfriend Dan and she was left alone in the house. After having a tuna sandwich for dinner, Diana grabbed her laptop and brought it to the round dining room table and logged it on. Diana grabbed her glasses from her nightstand and sat in front of the computer. Emma was on and she smiled.
"Turn the freaking camera on." Emma wrote and Diana did so.
"Can you see me?" She asked seeing Emma already on her screen. Emma squealed.
"Hey girl!" She said smiling and waving.
"How are you?" Diana asked grateful for technology. That way she could see and talk to her friend minimizing the distance that separated them. She leaned comfortably against the chair and pulled a foot up to rest it on the chair. Her arms surrounded her leg.
"Fine. Damn this time difference..." Emma groaned. "Why does it have to be eight hours!"
"It's night here already."
"Well. yeah...I know. How are you? Have you been to the beach? I think your face looks a little flushed or is it the light?"
"I have been to the beach." Diana smiled and nodded.
"It rained the whole day here." She said.
Diana rolled her eyes. Rain in London was not something that surprised her, but the city was so beautiful on rainy days. "Here there is a proper summer." She giggled.
"Anything interesting happened on your first day there?" Emma winked and Diana had to laugh loud.
"No... nothing. I met my boss."
"Your boss?" Emma curled an eyebrow. "And that's interesting?"
"No...that was all that happened today besides the beach."
"How is he?" Emma still asked while taking a mug to her lips which Diana supposed it had coffee in it.
"He's..." Diana stopped for a moment reliving the brief moment she had spent with him. First his eyes came to her mind, the intensity of his glare and then his smile. Emma snapped her fingers in front of the screen yanking her from her thoughts and Diana giggled amused. It was like they were at home talking to each other.
"Earth to Diana..." Emma said. "So...how is your boss?"
"Hot." Diana said promptly.
"What are you saying?" Emma said coming so close her face appeared distorted on the screen. Diana laughed loud.
"Stop that! You look like a freaking alien."
"Not nice, not charming but hot..." Emma said. "Diana Davenport...hot means you want to get into his pants."
Diana began to laugh again. "I do not!" She said. "He's nice...we talked just for a while, half an hour maybe."
"No...don't you reformulate your opinion...you said the guy was hot." Emma teased and Diana rolled her eyes. "How old is he? How is he?"
"Fifty." Diana answered Emma frowned.
"He's old!" She exclaimed after shock.
"He's not. He doesn't look fifty anyway. Pamela told me his age and she also said he has a dark soul..."
