I.

Morgan was waiting for him at the porch of her house, as usual. He smiled while he turned the engine of his truck off. She had finally a piece of clothing that wasn't black. It was grey, not the happiest color, but it was not black. He had been requesting her so much to put the black aside. Ray had left them long enough for her to grieve differently. She waved as she noticed he was watching her from inside his vehicle and he waved back and giggled, though she couldn't hear it. The immense love he felt blooming from within whenever he set his eyes on her or saw her smile was unbelievable and to think that when he first arrived in that same house, he thought he would never love them. What does a 11-year-old boy knows? Nothing... he fell in love with them almost immediately though he didn't show it. It had been difficult for him until he trusted, they were not going to leave.

"Mom..." He said approaching her with a smile on his lips.

"My Jamie." She smiled and he laughed low at her remark, curving over her and holding her really close. Her scent of Channel 5 reaching his nose. She was always so careful with her appearance.

"I missed you these days." He said still holding her against his body.

"I missed you too my big boy." She said kissing his cheek and patting his hair. Then he pulled away and held her hand.

"And look at you..." He said spinning her around. "...looking all neat to receive your son!" He joked.

Morgan laughed. "I knew you were going to like that I am trying to put the black aside."

James rested a hand on her wrinkled cheek and looked in her grey eyes. "You do good, mom." He told her. "Dad would hate if you dress in black for the rest of your life." He reinforced.

"Let's go inside?" She said pulling him by his hand and guiding him to the living room. Having him there, was always the highlight of her week.

The smell of her Sunday roast reaching his nostrils. She hadn't lost her touch at the cuisine. Her food was incredibly good. They sat on her couch, as usual, and Morgan patted his leg as in a caress and looked in his face, sinking in all traces of her son's face.

"You look happy." She said then. James threw his head back laughing loud. She could read him so well. "You do..." She insisted as he laughed. "Your eyes are shining... what's the matter? Who is she?" She asked straight forward. There, he looked at her.

"So, I am happy, and the reason can only be a woman?" He pretended to be rather offended with her remark. "It can be work... our exhibition in New York was a success." He said trying to diver her attention.

"It's not just today..." She waved her index finger in front of his eyes. "I have been noticing it from quite some time, but you don't say anything. "It is a woman..." She insisted and certain of her words.

"There's someone..." He nodded and confessed. After all, he was going to tell her about Diana during their lunch. Since she was touching the subject, he could let her know right away.

"Ah..." She exclaimed with her lips curved in a smile. "I knew it!"

James bent over her to kiss her cheek and then he pinched it lightly. "I hate that part of you that can see through to me!" He laughed in the end.

"You are my son. I know everything single aspect of your character." She affirmed. "Now... when are you going to bring her here, so I can meet her. If you are telling me about her, it's because she is important, otherwise I wouldn't even notice just like the other hundreds you've had!"

"Mom!" He exclaimed laughing again.

"Jamie..." She said with a warning tone. "... I know your fame. Unfortunately, I know a lot more than I should."
