I.

They had spent the rest of the day together. James took her to the university and Driving school. Her driving lessons would start the day after much to her enjoyment. After that, James took her to places around town just introducing her to her new home. Marin had lovely places and there was so much more to see. The day had been lovely, and James finally left her at her door around seven pm. The lights of the house were down so Diana knew Pam was not home, or maybe she was in her room and the lights would be on, but her window faced the backyard and she couldn't see it from the front porch. As she entered it, she knew the house was empty and she knew she'd have dinner by herself.

Before, she had a shower and changed to sweaters. She checked if Emma was online with no luck, she missed talking to her. In London they'd have lunch every day, so it was hard not to be able to talk to her, even if from the distance of a computer screen. Time difference didn't make the task easy. When she was available, Emma was at work and most of the times Emma was really busy in her stock exchange office. It was then that she went to the kitchen and heated some soup and that was all she had to eat that night. She had taken a tray to the sofa and turned the TV on, but she only stayed there until she was finished with her tomato soup and orange juice.

She went back to her room and slid in a pair of jeans and t-shirt and put on some trainers. Then grabbed her purse and got out of the house. She was glad to have a place where she could go just down the street. It was always packed, and she concluded that most of the neighborhood frequented it. The bar was agreeable with low music playing, so people could gather and talk, or just like her, go outside to the terrace and have a drink quietly just hearing the sound of waves crashing on the sand and watching a starry sky.

Diana sat at a table up in the front right near the rails. The night was warm, and the scent of the sea reached her nose. She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes, then she repeated the process. She was in love with that place. When the waiter came, she asked for a dry martini and she began to look around. At the far table, almost in the dark, she recognized the woman that approached her both times she had been there. She looked young, Diana observed, and pretty, she was very pretty though so pale. As Angela looked at her, Diana smiled softly and softly nodded as if greeting her. Angela gave her the same treatment and then Diana spoke.

"Do you want to join me?" She asked. Angela was caught by surprise. "I think we can sit and talk since you have approached me already."

"Very well." Angela said getting up and sitting at Diana's table.

"Diana..." Diana introduced herself and gave her, her hand.

"Angela." She said in quiet voice and stared at Diana's hand for a few seconds unsure of what to do. Then she remembered she was fed so she shouldn't be as cold as usual and shook it. Diana felt her cold touch.

"I have this impression that you think you know me." Diana said without reserves. "You even called me by my name the first night."

"You look just like someone I used to know, that's all." Angela said. There was no way she could share the story with her though she really wanted to tell her James was her soul mate, he was the one she was looking for, but she would let Diana discover that by herself as it should be.

"Are you from here?" Diana asked.

No...I am from England." Angela said though her accent was almost fading away.

"Yeah...you have a bit of an accent, I should say. I am from England too. I was born in London. You?"

"Scotland but I lived in England for many years. You haven't been here long have you?" Angela asked thirsty for information.
