San Francisco

James held Diana's hand while they waited for their luggage to arrive. From the glassy walls they could already see the blue and shining Californian sky and the warm thick coats from London were hanging on their arms for they didn't need it there. It was visible it was still warm outside, some people working busily at the airport were still in summer clothes. Diana held James's hand and rested her head on his shoulder. A sea of people around them waiting for the same thing, a bag full of clothes and gifts from the trip made to England. As he felt her head leaning on his shoulder, he tenderly turned his face and kissed the top of her head.

"Tired?" He asked her, then running a hand over her face as in a caress.

Diana took a few seconds to answer, as if she was processing what he had just said and James smiled acknowledging so. She must have been tired.

"A little." She said then raising her head and looking in his eyes. He looked a little restless too. His eyes were swollen and dark stains under it could be spotted. "You?" She asked him seeing how tousled his hair was, but he still looked so amazing.

"I am a little tired too." He kissed her lips after saying so. "I slept a lot on the plane. "I must have slept like 6 hours or so. I don't remember half of the flight." A smile illuminated his tired face. "It's hard to rest for real on a plane though."

"Me too. I slept a couple of hours." Diana smiled. "But it's night in London and we are on that schedule..." She stated. "It's time to be in bed and sleeping for us."

James looked at his watch. "It's 12.30 here... we have a long day ahead." He said yawning. Diana giggled amused. "It's going to be a very long day for us."

"Look." Diana pointed. "These are our bags."

They approached the rolling carpet to pull of their two bags. James gave her a helping hand with hers and then put both on the ground. After landing and spending almost an hour at the visa checking for Diana was not American, they were ready to finally leave the airport and that constant murmuring of people talking and walking nonstop around them.

"Let's go?" He asked grabbing the strap of his bag.

"Can't wait to breathe warm and fresh air." Diana said excited beginning to walk outside the airport. SFO was so busy that it suffocated and left people dizzy from the rush up and down the whole time.

As they stepped outside, it was like they were in an entire new world. James rested his coat on the bag and then took of his buttoned shirt, tying it on his waist. He stayed just in a shirt and then smiled openly.

"Fuck... nothing like this weather." He told her visibly content. Then he looked at her. "Don't you think?" He inhaled deeply with his eyes closed and Diana realized he was really homesick.

"I have to agree." She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply too, imitating his gesture. "I missed this air." She said opening her eyes again. "I miss this city, in fact."

"The line for the cabs is huge." James said looking at the other side of the road where there was a few meters line waiting for a taxi to take them to their destination. Still, James and Diana crossed the road and placed themselves in line.

"I am gonna take this opportunity to turn my phone on." James said grabbing it from the pocket of his coat, since he hadn't done it still. "It took us ages to leave the fucking airport."

"Yeah..." Diana said searching for hers inside her purse. With all the rush she also had forgotten it.

"I have a message from my mother..." James smiled while taking the phone to his ear. "Saying I have to go there first thing after I land." He chuckled. "You don't wanna piss off Morgan." He laughed pressing red to deleted the message. "I miss her a lot too." He admitted still with a tender smile on his lips. It was always like that whenever he talked about his mother, he couldn't hold the smile on his face.
