San Francisco...
Christmas
As James entered the bedroom, Diana was coming out of the bathroom with a white towel rolled around her body and another on her hair. She had fully recovered and had come back to work, but on her forehead, there was still the mark of her concussion. A light red spot above her eye could still be noticed.
"Hey." She smiled and walked up to him as he closed the door. "Good morning." Diana said kissing his lips, for when she woke up, James was not in the bedroom anymore.
"Good morning, babe." He smiled and then buried his nose on her neck. "Hum... this is so tempting." He nibbled her neck which made her giggle, but Diana did not let go of him.
"Just tempting?" She teased him. James raised his head and looked in her vibrant blue eyes.
"I have to go out." He said.
"It's Christmas Eve!" She curled an eyebrow. "Are you running away from them?" She laughed referring to Alice and Morgan who were downstairs in the kitchen. She could hear them perfectly well since she had opened her eyes.
"Jasper went for a run." James giggled. "I think he couldn't take it anymore."
"Poor guy." Dina laughed. "Where are you going?" She asked him, pecking his lips.
"I have to talk to a client but it won't take long. I promise." He said. "I gotta go." He kissed her lips one more time and let go of her. "I just came here to grab my wallet." He said going to his nightstand.
James grabbed his wallet and put it in the pocket of his jacket. Then, he walked back to her, and kissed her lips quickly.
"I won't take long." He promised her. "Did you sleep well?" He asked.
"I did, but I was a bit let down that you weren't here anymore when I woke up." She pretended she pouted. "I was up to a morning in bed with you." She smiled saying so.
"I am sorry, babe." He kissed her lips, lingering for a moment. "I tried to stay but I was unable to sleep and I didn't want to wake you up."
Diana nodded. "It's ok." She told him. "Well, go... you don't want to keep a client waiting."
"Have breakfast!" He told her. "It's already late and you haven't eaten anything."
"I will. Let me get dressed first." She pointed out at her figure.
"See you later." He kissed her one last time.
"See you later." She smiled.
James closed the door of the bedroom and descended the stairs in a hurry, checking his pockets for his cell phone and his car keys, that he spotted on the phone table near the door as he reached the hall way. He was grabbing the keys when Morgan appeared coming from the kitchen.
"You're going out?" She asked him with her soothing tone.
James turned around to look at her. "I have to see a client but I won't take long." He said going to her and kissing her on the forehead. "Diana is staying so if you need anything, she can help you."
Morgan smiled. "Alice and I have everything under control." Then, she tapped his face. "You and Diana could decorate the tree though."
"We will do that, I promise." He smiled. "It's good to see you get along with Diana's mother." James caressed Morgan's cheek. "I told you she is a great person."
"She is a lovely person and Diana inherited her beauty from her, definitely." Morgan smiled. "Alice is gorgeous like her daughter."
"Yes." James nodded agreeing. "Diana looks a lot like her mother." James bent over Morgan's short figure and placed another kiss on her forehead. "I gotta go. I am running late."
