A week later...

"You two stop that, right now." Pam tried to intimidate them but there was a smile on her face that could not do the deed. James and Phil laughed loud. Despite the fact she was not offended at all as they were some of her best friends. They were allowed almost everything.

"But you are..." Phil insisted trying to bug her.

"I am not... Christ... just because I spend some nights at his place doesn't mean I am living with him!" She defended her cause.

"Right..." James rolled his eyes and sipped on his coffee.

"Don't you dare to roll your eyes at me!" Pam exclaimed making them laugh again. "I know you! I know exactly what that roll of eyes mean..." She pointed her index finger at him.

"If you know... then I guess I don't have to say anything else." James grinned. Pam narrowed her eyes at him, and he sipped back on his coffee not showing a trace of intimidation. "That' doesn't work on me." He said winking.

"You're so hateful sometimes!" Pam smiled.

"So I've heard." James winked again. "More than once..."

Meanwhile, they heard steps on the corridor and James looked at the door. He could swear her perfume was reaching his nose, but he wasn't even seeing her yet. Pam analyzed him, how long his eyes were locked on that door where, she knew, he was expecting Diana to enter. Phil eyed him too and then him and Pam share a complicity glare. James was oblivious to all that. His attention was solely on the door.

"Hey, guys!" There it was, Diana entering the kitchen smiley, beautiful and smelling incredibly good. She looked fresh, rested and happy.

"I knew it was you coming." Pam said. "Someone in here was drooling at the door."

Diana smiled but didn't answer the provocation and James remained silent. "Good morning!" Diana added smiling even more.

She knew who Pam meant, but she didn't feed her provocation. Her eyes set on James's for a few seconds, he softly smiled at her with his blue eyes shining a little, but then her attention was diverted to James's side.

Phil spoke. "I am glad that you arrived." Diana looked at him and so did James and Pam. "Tell us, how long as it been since Pam last slept in the house you two divide?"

James cracked a laughter and Pam threw herself with her back against the chair where she was sat. It was her time to roll her eyes. They would never give up.

"Never mind, Di..." Pam said then looking at her. "These two..." She pointed at the two man. "... have been unbearable this morning."

"No wait..." Diana giggled. She knew what that was about. She had talked about it with James whenever they saw each other without anyone knowing. "It's been like nearly 3 weeks..." Diana winked, and Pam opened her mouth pretending to be indignant.

"I thought we were friends..." She claimed laughing.

"See..." Phil pointed at her. "You are living with him."

"Let her still believe in her own story..." James chuckled while writing on his telephone.

"You are..." Diana had to agree with the men and nodded her head at Pam.

Then, she felt her phone vibrating in the back pocket of her jeans. She grabbed it to find a text from James. She controlled herself so much not to look straight at him right there, but that would give him away in seconds, so she played along. Her heart racing while she pressed read. "You look beautiful." It said. Diana smiled at the phone. She couldn't cover it. She pressed reply "Thanks... you too look gorgeous." And she hit send.
