San Francisco
Diana entered the hospital's emergency lobby almost running and with her heart skipping beats of nervousness and to a certain extent of agony. Morgan was the only family James had left and even though she was in his life, she would never fill the place of a mother. She could only comfort him and be there for him, but never fill in that place. She stopped near a front desk ready to ask for information where she could find Morgan, but there was such a line and that lobby was so full of people that it seemed impossible to get any possible information. Feeling a little lost, she looked around her... so many people... nervous just like she was, looking for someone they loved just like her. Some people had probably found out terrible news as her eyes set on a couple crying holding onto each other and as she looked around, she could not see James anywhere.
"Can I help you miss?" A nurse approached her, grabbing her arm truly gently and Diana turned around to face her. Did she look that lost that someone came to help her?
"I am looking for my boyfriend..." Diana tried to smile but the knot she felt on her throat was forbidding her to do so.
"He is a patient?" The nurse asked her. Diana shook her head.
"No..." She said weakly. "His mother came to this hospital..."
"Are you alright, miss?" The nurse asked again looking in her eyes and Diana just realized that she was crying and she didn't even know she was doing so.
"I just need to find him." She said with her voice shaking. "I have my cell..." She added getting a little clarity of thought.
"It's easier if you call him." The nurse admitted. The hospital was messy and hectic that day because of the accident in the railway as a train had derailed near El Cerrito.
Diana nodded agreeing with her and opened her purse to grab her cell. James's number was the first on her list of recent calls since he had been the last person to call her. She realized it had been half an hour since he had done so. Diana pressed dialed and took the phone to her ear, feeling her hands shaking lightly.
"Babe?" She asked as she heard that little fuzzy noise of when a person answers the call.
"Di..." He breathed. He was still crying, she could tell. His voice sounded deep.
"Babe... I am at the hospital but the emergency room is too busy. Where are you?" Diana asked him.
James closed his eyes feeling an immense relief she was finally there. He needed her so much.
"I am on the 5th floor. It's the cardiac department." He informed her.
"So it really was a heart attack?" Diana asked him.
"I have no clue. No one came here yet to give me any explanation..." He told her. "Please come up babe..." He asked her in the end. "I need you."
"I'm coming." Diana simply said, pressing red the next second and looking at the nurse that had not abandoned her. "He is on the 5th floor. How can I get there?" She asked after.
The nurse rubbed her arm and smiled. "Everything is going to be alright." She consoled her. "See this red line on the floor?" The nurse pointed and Diana looked down, then she looked back up and nodded. "You follow it until you find an elevator. That's the elevator that will take you to that side of the hospital. You just have to press 5th..."
"Thank you so much," Diana said being grateful.
"Everything is going to be alright." The nurse smiled and Diana turned to leave.
