Before I could even finish, we then heard a big explosion inside. "What was that?!" Sally shouted in panic before she ran back inside, leaving me and Amy at the balcony with panicked faces. Our eyes met and we both nodded and followed Sally back inside, and there, we looked at the scene in horror. The now quiet and bustling party was now filled with people running to the exit in fear as the roof of the venue starts to fall down.
"What's that?!"
"Was there just an explosion?!"
"Are we gonna die?!"
"Where's the fire exit?! I don't want to die here!"
They all shout in unison as they start to run towards the fire exit with horrified looks, completely oblivious to the decor as they kept on pushing each other. At the corner of my eye, I saw my mother's personal guards wave at me to follow them. "Follow me!" I yelled at Sally and Amy. They both nodded and tried their best to run with their dresses, but I know that they were having a hard time running in it, so I turned around to try to help them. But as I turned around, I saw a black figure standing behind them.
"Watch out!" I shouted. But it was too late when another explosion occurred near them, and the only thing I was able to do was to pull the both of them closer to me.
*BOOM!*
The ceiling on top of us could not withstand it further and all of it came crashing down along with the other floors on top of us, the room was now covered in flames. But I can't just stand there and watch the building burn and fall down, so I quickly led Amy and Sally away. We were now backstage, and before we could enter the fire exit, Amy's dress was stuck between the fallen ruins. "What happened?!" I yelled for her to hear. She tugged and tugged before she yelled back, "My dress-- It's stuck!" Sally was about to help her, but I shook my head and pushed her to get out first. "But I have to also help--!"
"There's no time! Get outside first! We'll follow!" I yelled as I began to help Amy get her dress out.
Sally was hesitant at first, but she followed my orders and went out first. The fire was already spreading around us, and among the cries and screams of people and the continuous explosions above us, we then heard a lot of footsteps running towards us. "It's them," I muttered, as I began to rip Amy's dress. "What the--" Amy was shocked but I shooked my head, "We don't have the luxury to be thinking about this dress unless you want to die," I told her. She went silent first before she nodded, but when she was finally free from being stuck, she yelped in pain. "What now?!" I yelled. "It's okay! I'm fine! It's just my feet--" Before she could continue being a dumbass, I quickly carried her bridal style.
"Hold on tight!" I told her. It was stupid for me to listen to her after all because, in the first place, I have already suspected that the people who bombed this place were after me and Amy. It'll get more dangerous if we were discovered, and so we must hurry up before they could get to us.
With Amy in my arms, I ran towards the fire exit and got out of the building safely, just in time before the building could completely collapse.
The fire roared, and I made sure to face Amy the other way for the flames to not get to her. Now safe, I ran towards my family with shocked and panicked faces. The now beautiful cold night earlier was now filled with black smoke and the sound of the roaring flames. I looked around and saw firefighters and police running around, trying to help put a stop to the fire and get everyone to safety. I closed my eyes for a bit to muffle the sound of sirens and people shouting, because all of this felt too familiar, to begin with.
And as the memory of my 5th birthday went back again, the sirens and people shouting... it all feels too familiar. My headaches went back again, and I opened my eyes and hide the agonizing pain to myself. I felt my whole body shiver in fright, but I still kept my expression calm to not attract unwanted attention. "Oh my! Someone get them some water!" I heard my mother ordered as she touched Amy, who was in a state of panic.
