Sonic's POV:

4:18 pm | Sonic's Bedroom

*Knock! Knock!*

"Ugh..." I groaned as I sat up from my bed. "Sonic? Are you awake?" I heard my mother asked from outside my room. I suddenly had a bad feeling that something is gonna happen, and it's something bad since my mother's here I guess. "Yeah.. what do you want?" I replied, my tone seems to off as annoyed. Well, who wouldn't be? If someone just woke me up from a very good nap. "Be grateful that I didn't just walk in, Sonic." My mother rebuked. "Alright. But what do you want anyway?" I asked as I tried to get my phone that was on my bedside table. "I want you to have dinner with Amy, so you two would settle your indifferences."

And so that there's no more ruckus around the yacht." My mom ordered. She then opened my door and entered the room, and stood in front of me with a smile. "I don't want to. She clearly doesn't like me and I hate her because she's so annoying." I said, ignoring my mother. I then scanned through my phone to find missed calls by someone important. "Now, now, Sonic. I told you to be nice, just simply try to get along with each other. That's why you need to get along with her during dinner time, alone." She smirked, covering half of her face with a fan that's adorned with pearls.

"Nope. I don't want to." I glared at her, about to walk to the bathroom. "Oh, well then. I'll just have to force you." My mother said, before snapping her fingers to reveal 10 maids and butlers trying to get ahold of me. "What!? Hey! Let me go!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, trying to escape their grips. "Bard, dress him up in his formal attire. And don't let him escape until dinner time. Be sure that he obeys my orders, if he won't, you know what to do." My mom ordered her butler before she left.

"All of you are such a pain the ass," I growled before a needle pinched through my skin.

Amy's POV:

"Mom? Why do I really need to get along with Sonic, he's clearly a jerk and a disrespectful person. I'm not even sure if he is a person." I sighed, as the maids adjusted my dress. "Amy, we've been family friends with them before you two were born. Just try to get along, and we would never force you anymore. Deal?" My mom said.

"That's clearly a lie, but fine. But I rather drown myself than spend my precious dinner with that jerk." I said, which made my mom roll her eyes in response. "You simply look stunning! Oh! We should tie your hair into a bun! Thanks!" My mother excitedly said before she thanked the maids. She then told the maids to go outside and lock the door as they went out.

"Why bother to be pretty anyway? It's just that jerk, it's not like that he's the prince or something." I said, sitting down in front of the mirror. She grabbed a seat and sat behind me. "I suppose that you're right. But you're not getting ready for Sonic, do it for yourself." My mom giggled, brushing my hair. "I remember the time when you two were still kids, the two of you would always try to be the best." My mother smirked. I chuckled and rolled my eyes, "I don't really remember that. And that was only when we were kids, I don't care about who's the best or something anymore."

"Really? And you always failed though! But when his aunt died.... no let's not talk about it." My mother mumbled. I saw her frown from the mirror, and I can't help but wonder what was that about. About when Sonic's aunt died? "But think of it! You two would always fight in tennis and even in track, but he still won." My mother smiled, tying my hair into a bun. I smiled, "Yeah.. he would always win." But deep inside I knew something was weird.. why couldn't I remember his Aunt?

Is that the reason why he acts like that all the time?

6:00 pm | A Hallway

"It's already dinner time, Amy. Now go to the west wing of the yacht, you'll find a butler there." My mother said before she and dad both kissed me on the cheek. "Oh great. Let's just hope that he's not yet there, or I'll be completely embarrassed while wearing this dress." I sighed as I made my way to where my parents told me to go. When I arrived, a butler was already waiting for me in front of a glass door. "Good evening Miss Rose, Sir Sonic is still being dragged here." The butler informed with a smile, as he opened the glass doors to reveal a neatly lined table with a wonderful view of the ocean.

"Wow. So much for being rich.." I muttered, before taking a seat. While waiting, I took my phone out and checked some updates from the internet, the latest news, or something like that. A few minutes later, I then heard Sonic yelling outside. The door opened, and I saw Sonic being dragged by bulky guards to the table. "Let me go!" Sonic yelled again, as the guards forced him to sit across me. "So what's the yelling all about?" I snickered. He looked at me for a moment and looked away, "Shut it, pink peacock."

I growled, "I appreciate the respectful manner if you only know what it's like when your mother forced me to wear this dress." He glared at me, "Oh really? The one thing I can only say in a respectful manner is, I don't care." Both of us went silent, only the small waves from the ocean and the silent chatters of the people upstairs are what only kept this less awkward. I suddenly then heard Sonic clanking the wine glass with a spoon. "Can you please stop that?" I asked him, as I rested my face on my hand. He rolled his eyes and looked at the ocean.

"Hmph. You're just like the other girls, who changed when my mom starts giving expensive things to you." He muttered. I rolled my eyes at him and leaned against the chair, something my mom would usually scold me not to do. "Look, I don't care about the things your mom is giving to us. All I know is that we're in the same boat, I'm also being forced to something I don't want to do." I sighed, playing with my hair.

The two of us went quiet again, the air around us was getting more awkward as each minute passes by. "If what you're saying is true, then okay." He muttered. "See? So maybe it's time for you to see that I'm not the kind of person you think I am." I murmured. "Uh-huh. That's what every other girl says, then they'll start forcing me to open up to them so that they'll quickly win over my mom." He frowned. I raised my brow, "I see you have trust issues? But don't worry I won't force you to open up, I just want to keep things cool until I could finally escape this mess."

"It's easy to say that, but a day will come when you'll have to force me to open up." I heard him muttered. I bit my lip, "How come you're so angry with your parents? Especially to your mother?" He glowered, "That's none of your business. What I feel doesn't concern you." I then rolled my eyes, "Suit yourself." He went silent before he said, "I just felt envious because you have a bond with your parents that I'll never have. I was angry because I couldn't stand to see how close you are with your parents." When he said that I immediately looked at him, surprised that he's talking things like this with me.

"What? Didn't you see how happy your parents were when you won the match against your dad? They were smiling." I reassured, giving him a faint smile. He then looked at me and scoffed, "More like faking it. Since I am their first son, they have to find me a fiancé soon. And by faking it, it could help boost the chance of them finding a suitable partner for me." It was clear that he's clearly upset about his parents, but I couldn't pinpoint how and why he would be. I know it doesn't concern me, he's right, but it pains me to see someone so miserable in a life that's been looked up to by others.

I don't get why his parents felt the need to find him a fiance as soon as possible, but yeah, somehow I could see why. They probably want this alien to be engaged as soon as possible to make his fangirls give up on pursuing him. But I can't deny it, he is, of course, looks well-groomed, smart, and has somewhat a friendly aura around him. The only thing that really does stick out to me, is his expensive-looking ring. Dunno why, but it somehow reminds me of something but I can't remember what it is.

"Oh, you have a ring also?" I asked him, while I held up my ring for him to see. Mine was a rose-gold ring with a pink sapphire and small diamonds. He looked at my ring and his and softly smiled, "Yeah, this was given by my aunt. Before she passed away." He said, looking at his ring. "She was the most beautiful and understanding person I knew, too perfect to be even in this world. I guess maybe that's why they killed her."
