Chapter 24 | 'Forgiveness'

Amy's POV:

I sighed sadly, picking on my pesto with a fork. "Amy... is everything okay? Although we weren't that much of a help we can--" I cut Rouge off as I waved my hand for a no. "No, no. You guys did enough, it's just that... Ugh." I sighed in frustration and planted my face on the cafeteria table.

"What will you guys do if you can't escape a destiny?" I asked them, as I sat up properly again to face them. "Hhmmm... well if that destiny means to protect the people I want to protect, then, of course, I would accept that destiny," Rouge answered. "Well, what if it's a bad destiny?" I asked as I rest my head on my hand. "Well... maybe there is still a way to change it?" Rouge chuckled.

"Well, I think a bad destiny doesn't entirely mean that it's actually bad. Maybe there are a couple of good things about it, like for example. Let's say, you were engaged to someone you don't like and you don't want to spend the rest of your life with." Blaze chirped, as she gestured for us to think. My ears eventually perked up in curiosity, since it's the same as mine.

"Although it may look bad on the surface, the two of them were still given a chance to get to know each other. And somehow, you might actually like that person in the end because he showed his character and what kind of a person he actually is." Blaze finished before she drank her juice. "Well, what if that person actually is REALLY a bad person?" Cream asked as she raised her hand to ask.

"Yeah, what if it's actually like that?" I asked, the thought of my engagement with Sonic still lingers in my head. "Well, you could always annul the engagement--" Rouge was then cut off by Blaze, as she shook her head to disapprove. "Well, if we based it on real life. People actually aren't that bad, to begin with, the reason why they act badly is because of the environment they were raised in." Blaze said.

"The way the person may treat his surroundings may look bad to you and for the others, but actually it's because he couldn't express his emotions and thoughts to someone. No matter how many friends that person has. The good thing about that situation is that you can still change that person, and you can start by talking to him and show that person that he or she can trust you." Blaze continued.

"But this situation is different from ACTUALLY being abused, remember that." She added.

We looked at her in amazement, as she was able to let us see that situation from a whole new perspective. I scratched my head and thought that maybe I could actually help Sonic in expressing his emotions. "Wow, where have you got that kind of information?" Rouge asked in awe.

"Experience, I was actually put into a special class because I couldn't contain my anger. But when I actually started talking to my parents about my feelings, it felt different, I actually felt a bit lighter. And happier." Blaze chuckled, as she finished the last of her juice.

"Let's go, I still have to work on my Math homework." Blaze sighed, as she stood up while carrying her lunch tray. The rest of us followed, and while we're going back to our classes, it actually made me feel guilty about what I said to Sonic. But he still slapped me, how could he slap a girl? But... what Blaze said during Lunch actually made more sense.

Just what kind of childhood did he go through?

I was now placing the last of my things inside my locker, I was already getting to leave the school for the day. Cream actually went ahead since she needs to attend a family dinner, as for Rouge and Blaze, they need to work on their projects. I already finished mine, but not all of them so I need to go home early so I can work on them.

As I placed the last book in my locker, I then heard footsteps walking towards me. I looked to the side to see a black hedgehog, tall and looks frightening in the dim hallways of the school. "Amy Rose? Is it?" The hedgehog asked with a frown. I flinched and nodded, "Ye-yeah. What do you need?" I asked. He sighed, "Someone wants to talk to you, so please follow me to the student council room."
