Chapter 60 | 'The Kingdom of Thorned Roses'

Sonic's POV:

"Tails, I need you to look something up for me."

"Sure, what is it?" Tails responded as the sound of him typing can be heard through the call. I peered at Amy's bathroom door and waited for her to switch on the shower before I replied, "Look through John Rosetta's laptop and tell me what you can find." Tails paused for a second before asking, "Isn't he your personal doctor?"

"Yes," I questioned him again, "So what did you find?" Tails stated, "John Rosetta has been conversing with a guy named L yesterday, at precisely 10 pm, and at some point in their communication, they seem to be utilizing morse code, as John requested L to bring them a plane tomorrow." What use does an aircraft serve, I wondered. Tails remarked, "There was something about Amy in grave danger, that the guy, who they referred to as 'he', had at last located her again.

Located her?

 So Amy was being pursued by someone all this time? Is this the motive behind their relocation from London? Fortunately, I had already stopped the conversation when I heard Amy enter the door. Amy turned to face me and said, "Is this outfit alright? I swiftly turned to gaze at her and replied, "Yes, you look amazing." She smiled and said, "Where are we going exactly?"

"You'll find out soon." I grinned at her as I helped her climb out the window.

Amy returning to London was all I could think about while driving. I could come up with a million different methods to persuade her Uncle to let her stay, but... she would still be in danger, I am certain of that. Maybe it was the same individual who kidnapped her before. Even with my agents watching over her around the clock, I know that there will be no end to their annoying ploys. I instantly turned to look at Amy, and when I saw her huge, dejected eyes, I realized there was no getting out of this one. I grabbed the steering wheel once more as I refocused on the road. I wanted to ask her so many things, maybe about who was pursuing her. And maybe somehow I could track down the leader of that disgusting group who kidnapped her, maybe that person would be easier to track down than the person who killed my Aunt. Then perhaps it would be safer for her to travel back to London and get out of this violent city while I track down this crazy person who's after her.

I'll definitely miss her.

"Amy?" 

She said swiftly, "Yeah?" I smiled and said, "You seem like you have something to say, mind telling me?" Amy was silent for a while and then said, "I'm going back to London." Of course, I expected her to lie and claim that she had nothing to say so it was actually quite a surprise when she told me. I accidentally halted the automobile out of surprise. I quickly stopped Amy from hitting herself against the interior in panic, "Are you okay!?" I yelled, looking to see whether she had any scratches on her face. She glanced at me while shaking her head, tears streaming down her face. Worried, I wiped the tears from her face as I said, "I'm sorry, I'll get you to the hospital," but while I was saying that, she started crying, saying, "I'm sorry, Sonic. I'm very sorry."

"I'm sorry that I can't do anything to stop my family from going back, but there's no—" She sobbed. 

I comforted her, caressing her cheek as her tears still streamed down her cheeks, saying, "I know. You have no choice but to go back. I know." Between her sobs, she questioned, "How did you know?," and I said, "Your cousin told me." Yeah, I lied to her. She continued to cry as I hugged her and whispered, "It's okay, I understand." I couldn't bring myself to tell her that I had broken into her Uncle's laptop, since I don't think that she'll handle that very well. She wept, "I know that I can't just leave without saying something, that's why I just suddenly broke down. I'm sorry, I'm very sorry," before releasing the embrace.
