Chapter 45 | 'A Stroll' [4]

???'s POV:

"Sir, may I say something?" My most trusted underling asked.

I puffed out the smoke from my cigarette and nodded in his direction before I looked down at the woman who's busy entertaining me. I slowly leaned towards her and grabbed her hair, "If you don't want to die in this room right now, do it properly." I whispered to her before I harshly let go of her hair.

"No offense boss, but earlier... I think that was the most perfect time for you to steal that--"

I raised my hand for him to stop speaking, annoyed by what he just said, of course, he then quickly stopped talking. I then puffed out another large smoke before I laughed loudly "Relax. I have everything under control. Even if I can't get it now, I would still be able to get it easily from that wench."

"I see." My underling replied.

I snickered and kicked the woman away from me before I stood up, I slowly walked up to the big window in front of me and stared at the view below. "I just think it would be easier to get the seal if I gain her trust, then I would finally be the ruler of that Kingdom. Just like what my ancestors have always wanted." I muttered.

Amy's POV:

"You know what.."

"I still don't get why we have to stop here. I mean this place is nice, but can't we just visit all of these places after the ceremony?" I asked Sonic, who was busy looking outside the window. Yes, as the matter of fact, after that grand tour around the town of Ravello yesterday, we would have to start packing again to go to Cortina d' Ampezzo. A town in the southern Dolomitic Alps in the Veneto Region of Northern Italy. But amidst all the excitement, it was such a rush to travel again after just two days of staying there. So can you guess who didn't get much sleep?

Yeah, me.

"Huh? Weren't you excited about this trip? And relax, I guess my mom just wants us to explore a bit around Italy before the ceremony day. Heck, I can just imagine how stressful that day would be." Sonic chuckled before smiled at me. I looked up and sighed as I leaned my back against my seat, "I am! The only reason why I'm feeling nervous is that I don't know how many people are gonna be there and what if I'll mess up--" Before I could continue speaking, I then saw a fork appear in front of me. I then looked to my side to find out that it was Sonic, "Ah, thank you," I muttered to him as I took the fork. 

"Your welcome. But as I've said, you just need to focus on me during the ceremony since I'll be the one taking the lead."

"Just like this." I then felt his hand touch my cheek as he gently makes me face him. Our eyes met, and I was surprised. My eyes widened and before I could say something, he immediately retracted his hand and sat up straight again.

"So don't worry if you mess up during the ceremony, I'll help you cover it up," Sonic told me as he passed me the matcha cake I ordered earlier before he also took his strawberry cake from the butler. I stared at him in awe before I blurted out, "You know, you really have become a different person each day." Sonic raised his brow with a small smile, "Is that supposed to be an insult or a compliment? Anyways, stop telling me that. I'm still the same since you've met me, so I don't really get it when you say that." I then giggled, "For a smartass like you, I'm surprised that you're so dense in these types of topics!" Sonic looked at me with a confused expression before he rolled his eyes and started eating his cake happily.

"But for real tho, it was a compliment. And how come you think that you were still the same poker-faced Sonic when we still first met? Don't you know how much you've changed since then?" I smiled at him before I also took a bite of my own cake. I then heard him sigh, making me look at him in curiosity. "Everyone tells me that... I really have changed. But I don't know if it's something to be proud of or not." He muttered as he put down his fork. I looked at him for a moment before I chuckled, "It is something to be proud of."
