Amy's POV:
Tuesday Morning | 7:00 am
"Geez, have you seen Sonic lately? He looks so worn out." A student gossiped. I and my friends were hanging out in the library, but the people gossiping has caught my attention, instead of the massive textbook in front of me. "Yeah, and did you hear about the rumors about his cousin Scourge? Apparently, he caused a lot of trouble last night at that high-end J-bar." Another gossiped.
"Ignore them, Amy, they're just wasting their time minding other people's business when it shouldn't be their business, to begin with," Rouge said, writing her homework. Cream nodded, "Rouge is right. The truth comes from Sonic's mouth himself, not from others." I closed my book and gently push it beside me.
"I know... but sometimes I worry for Sonic," I muttered. The three of them look at me suddenly, which made me return a surprised and confused look. "Wait, what did you just say?" Blaze uttered. I was unsure of what to think so I said it again, "I'm worried about him, based on the rumors going around about him and his family-- it's clear that something is going on--" I then realized what I just said and quickly covered my mouth, but it was already too late because my friends were already smirking at me.
"Aha! Is this it?" Cream exclaimed, looking at Blaze and Rouge. The three of them were smiling widely, and I couldn't figure out what they meant. I rolled my eyes and opened my book again, "It is not what you guys assume, so don't get your hopes up," I told them flipping the pages of the book I'm holding. "How are you sure that we're thinking of the same thing?" Rouge teased.
"I am sure, just by the look of your faces." I giggled.
*Ring! Ring!*
"Oh well, there goes the bell. We should head back now, let's meet later after the study session." Blaze said. Blaze and Rouge went back to their classrooms, and I and Cream quickly went to ours. The first two subjects were the same, the teacher would have a discussion then the next would be a surprise pop quiz.
Of course, I did my best to answer correctly. I got a B+ on my first quiz, then an A- on the second one. I felt happy because I realized that my grades were now improving because of my will to study and to beat Sonic, heh, yep I still do want to beat him. I and Cream went to the library to have our daily study session and of course, our seats are very far from each other so I can't talk to her while I wait for the others.
I sat on my respective seat, and Sonic followed. "How did your quizzes go?" I asked, opening my notes and taking out my red pen. He sighed, "Of course, and as always, I did well. I got A++'s and another 10 plus points for each quiz." I've realized that maybe I shouldn't have asked him since I should already know that he would have those out of the range scores that no other person could ever reach but except for him.
"You know... I shouldn't have asked." I muttered, writing down notes. Sonic didn't say anything and just laid his head down on the table to sleep, and I realized that his phone was buzzing a lot. In normal cases, he would check his phone when he hears a bunch of notifications coming from it. But in this case, something does felt... wrong.
"I something wrong? You looked... quite beat today." I asked, hoping for him to answer. A few minutes of waiting later, he still didn't answer and just kept on sleeping. Well, I shouldn't have asked in the first place. "Nevermind," I muttered under my breath before I start to study again.
"...."
"......."
"I feel so... lost." I heard Sonic whispered. My ears perked up when I heard him talk, "Huh? Why?" I saw him peek a bit from his arms that's covering his face, "News... there's a lot of bad news I've been receiving since the last couple of days." He muttered. "What kind of bad news? Is it that bad?" I asked. I saw him nod his head and I asked, "Do you want to talk about it?"
