Chapter 18 | 'Announcement' [ 4 ]

"Oh... is that so?" I muttered, before I took a sip of my wine.

"Yeah... then you should learn from me too." Sally said. My eyes widened as I looked at her and was about to say something, but she just smiled and looked at me. I frowned and looked away, "It might be easy for you to forget the past... but for me.. it's a different story to tell."

"Aunt Cristina isn't just someone to be forgotten, she means everything to me. I love her to death." I muttered, as I punched the window with small force. "Well, I also share the same pain as you. But I chose to move on, because I know that Aunt Cristina doesn't want us to suffer in getting revenge."

My heart beated a little fast when she said that, have I been found out?

"Getting revenge?" I asked, trying to appear as if It was my first time hearing it. She nodded as she looked at the view, "Well... I just think that maybe that's what you have been up to these past years." She said. I scoffed, "Oh Sal, who do you take me for? Me? Getting revenge? I have already dealt with my parents enough, I don't think I have the luxury to do that." It was hurtful to lie to her, but in the end, what matters is that she must not get in my way.

"Well, sorry for jumping to conclusions. I was just worried." Sally said, as she massaged her head. I chuckled, "It's okay, but sometimes you're a bit overprotective when it comes to me." She giggled, "It's normal to be worried for my childhood friend, is it?" The two of us then sat on our tables, but of course, since she's a close friend of mine, she gets to sit on our table.

Along with my parents and hers. She sat on one seat more beside me, and I quickly took my phone out to go through my social media.

Amy's POV:

"Oh, it looks like we're here now." Sonic's mother said, looking out the window. The limo stopped in front of a huge hotel, Sonic's father went out first before he helped Sonic's mom out of the car. I followed them outside, and to my suprise, we were greeted by the people from the party. The two of them were quickly surrounded by people in awe and in admiration, and maybe that's why I went ahead of them.

Once I entered, the hall made me feel like I was in a castle. The ceiling was very tall  and a red carpet was where I walked on, it was nauseating. I walked around for a bit, and it seems the party is held in the ballroom to where the carpet is leading the guests. Well, there seems to be some time to look around.

The other wing of the hotel seems to be a hall of fame, and the paintings of the previous people who are in charge of the hotel. "They look so stuck-up." I muttered.

"Aren't they?" I heard a voice behind me said.

I yelped in suprised and looked behind me to see who it was, there stand a boy who seems to be of the same age as I am. "Uh.. I'm sorry.. am I interrupting something?" I apologized. "Oh not at all, but it seems you took an interest with my uncles." He winked as he pointed at the paintings I was just looking.

I gasped in shock and bowed my head in an apologetic manner, "Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to say that to your uncles!" I mumbled. He laughed, "It's okay! I'm not offended at all! And also, I thought of the same thing! Well it's the truth though, they are a bunch of stuck-ups."

I was dumbfounded, he seems to be an oblivious type. "Oh, hehehe... is that so?" I softly giggled. "Say, what family are you from? I have never seen you from any party before?" He asked, as he moved his face closer to me. "Oh.. um.." I mumbled. "Just kidding, you don't have to answer that! Family names don't matter to me at all." He chuckled.

He then checked his watch, "The party's about to start, let's go?" He asked, as he gestured me to grab his arm. I shaked my head, "Oh uh, no thanks. But let's head there now, shall we?" I said, as I started to walk back to the main hall. He just chuckled and nodded, walking by beside me as he repeatedly made me laugh.

When we got there, he bid me a temporary goodbye and went to his seat. I didn't know where I'm going to sit, so I asked some servers for my seat. "Oh, well what's your name miss? Maybe then I can help you." The girl said with a bright smile. I sighed before I smiled back, "Amy 'Rosetta'."

The girl gasped in shock, but instead of digust, she seems to be excited. "Oh! Well follow me then, your seat is up there." The girl pointed to the small balcony. I was confused, why am I gonna sit there? But afterall, since I bailed in Sonic's parents.. I guess I have to take care of myself.

I followed her up to the balcony and escorted me to a room that has the balcony she pointed at earlier, I thanked her and quickly sat on a chair overlooking the ballroom. As soon as I sat on the chair, the lights quickly went off, leaving only the stage litted.

"Welcome everyone to the grand party of the 'Baringtons'!" The woman, who seems to be in the same age as Sonic's mom. "As you may all know, only distinguished and important guests of mine are only invited to tonights event." The woman chuckled, she seems to lowly boast to the others. "May we please welcome our co-host, Miss 'Mexuis'!" The woman called, as she clapped.

The room was then filled with loud claps and cheers as she went up the stage, looking stunning. She grabbed the mic from the woman with a smile before she faced the crowd, with a confident smile. "Firstly, thank you Miss 'Barrington' for hosting this grand event along with me." She said, as she glanced at the woman behind her.

"Second, thank you all for attending the event. As you all may know, we gave you all each a black card to bring to the party. That card helps us identify our guests easier, obviously." She continued. I took out my card and glanced at it, so this card's only use is for security. Huh. No wonder.

I hope all of you will enjoy the night! And of course, there would also be a grand event. A very special event." She announced. "Well that's all! Enjoy the party!" She chirped, before she gave the mic to the woman behind her.

The audience clapped as she went down the stage and back to her table... wait.. who's that? I squinted my eyes, trying to see if what I'm seeing is right. "S-Sonic is here?" I blurted out, in shock.

"What is he doing here?!" I thought.
