Chapter 44 | 'Signs [3]'

[ Author's Note: Originally the title was supposed to be (Garden of Lies) but it was too long for the usual one to two word chapter titles I usually put. So I chose to go with this title instead. ]

Sonic's POV:

"C'mon! It's already been five minutes and you're still not ready?!" I scolded the pink turkey from outside of her room. A few minutes ago, my mom's butler told us to get dressed quickly since we'll be having dinner with Sir Albion. I already changed my casual clothes to a formal long sleeve black polo-style shirt paired with grey slacks, so normally I would go ahead and go down first to greet Sir Albion. But since I don't like him, I have decided to just go with Amy instead. Just the mention of his name makes me annoyed already.

I then sighed and put my hands in my pockets, deciding if whether I should kick her door down or should I just continue standing here like a creep? Not that people would see me though, since this entire hotel floor is rented under my family's name. "Wait! I'll be done in a moment--" I heard Amy said. If anyone could see my expression right now, they would wish to quickly escape the hotel because of the flaming aura of anger I have around me. "But you told me that five minutes ago!" I complained as I checked my watch. "Well sorry! But art takes time!" I heard Amy laughed. "Art my ass!" I hissed.

I sighed and checked my watch for any messages from Tails, but still none as I've expected. "If you don't come out at any time now I'm gonna have to leave you--" I was then cut off by none other than Amy. "Chill blue boy, I'm done." Amy chuckled as she opened the door. My eyes widened and I stared at her for a moment, surprised. "What? Did you get enchanted by my beauty also? Ugh, men these days--" Amy smirked, but I quickly snorted. "You're wearing that for dinner?" I asked, pointing to the dress she's wearing. Amy nodded slowly and raised her brow, "Well, yeah. Why? You have a problem?" I then shook my head and cleared my throat as I looked away, "Of course not. It's just that... I've never seen you wear that color before." We then start to make our way to the stairs, me in front and Amy following behind me closely.

"I know right? I did tell your sister that I won't look good in green last time, but she insisted that it's perfect for me. So she bought it for me when she didn't even have to." Amy sighed. I then stopped walking and turned around to face her, hands in my pockets as I smiled. "But it really does suits you though..." I muttered. Amy looked at me in surprise for a moment before she laughed, "You really are a great liar, huh? But anyway! I think they're already waiting for us for thirty minutes, So let's go! Didn't you remember that you were nagging me earlier about how slow I was?!" She then quickly quickened her pace and got ahead of me. I then chuckled as I followed her down as we made our way downstairs.

Now that we're downstairs, I realized that there wasn't many staff running around in the hotel, like back in Mobius. "Hey Amy, did you know that--" When I looked at "Amy", who's supposed to be in front of me, I then realized that Amy wasn't there anymore. I quickly panicked and used a bit of my speed to reach her, who was about to walk into the dining area without her knowing that I wasn't behind her anymore. I then caught up to her, put my hand on her waist to stop her from going in, and was relieved that I could catch up to her.

Damn, I never knew that she's capable of walking that quick! Even if I only used a bit of my speed, I was still nervous that I won't be able to catch up to her. "What? Why did you stop me?" Amy asked as she turned around to face me with a confused expression. I removed my hand on her waist and instead put it on her shoulder to breathe since I was out of my breath earlier from that small chase. "You made me worry for a bit there," I muttered as I stood up straightly again.
