Chapter 29 | 'Special Invite'

Amy's POV:

School Library | 11:45 PM | Monday

"Geez, what the hell are we here for anyway?" Cream asked in annoyance.

I and the others were hiding behind the bookshelves from a guy working a shift in the school library, Rouge's crush. He was a student, and he looks like the shy and quiet type to me. Rouge forced us to go with her to back her up when she fails to ask him out, which is what we're here for.

"Shush! I'm going to ask him out! But if I fail, I will need you guys to back me up so I won't embarrass myself in front of him!" Rouge said as she put her finger in the middle of her lips to shush Cream. "So what are you waiting for? Go get him, tiger!" Blaze said before she pushed Rouge to the guy.

Rouge was surprised, but it was too late when she bumped into the guy she has been crushing on for about a week only. The guy turned around and greeted Rouge, but Rouge was red in embarrassment and stuttering in front of him that she looks like a melted Ice cream left out in the sun.

It was still early lunchtime, but I guess Cream can't take it anymore since she did say she was gonna get the special carbonara surprise the cafeteria will offer today. She went out in the open and put her hand on Rouge's shoulder, extremely fearless and oblivious.

"Hey, you! My friend wants to hang out with you this Saturday! So please say yes so I can finally have my special carbonara surprise downstairs! Thank you!" Cream exclaimed as she put her fist on her hips. The guy was confused, but I think he just nodded since Cream looks like she was about to pound someone if she doesn't get her food.

The four of us went out of the library in laughter and giggles, since Rouge finally got the guy's number. We congratulated her and mentioned Cream's bravery to help Rouge get the guy's number. Once we got to the cafeteria, Cream immediately dashed to get her food, even us.

After eating, we've decided to sit on the benches outside the school to talk and chat. While they were talking about the guys in the school, I was busy playing a ranked MOBA game on my phone.

"Hey Amy, Scourge seems to want to talk to you," Blaze whispered. I finished my game and looked up to see Scourge leaning on the wall while looking at me with a glare. I rolled my eyes and scoffed, "Don't mind him. He's just trying to tick me off again."

"Well, he doesn't really need to do that since he does a good job in ticking people off." Blaze giggled. "Well, he looks like he really does want to talk to you. Look he's tapping his foot impatiently just like Sonic does." Cream said, pointing to him. I sighed in defeat and put my phone inside my pocket as I walked up to Scourge.

Scourge stopped tapping his foot quickly and scowled at me, "Why were your friends laughing at me? Maybe if I get to punch them in the face --" I raised my hand to make him stop from talking further, "Tell me, do you need something?" Scourge immediately scoffed and nodded, "Actually, my parents do."

"Huh, what do you mean?" I asked in confusion.

He rolled his eyes and crossed his shoulders, "They've invited the two of you to spend the day in our beach house, and the reason is that... you don't need to know." He told me before he began to walk away.

"Wait! What the heck?!" I shouted, but he continued to walk away. And there I was, standing and confused about what he just told me. I heard my friends run up to me, and the three of them asked in unison. "What did he said? Did he said something bad to you?"

"Did he insulted you again? I swear this time I'll choke him to death--" I shook my head to interrupt Blaze from getting ahead. "No, it's just that... Scourge just asked me and Sonic to spend the night at his family's beach house." I replied. "Huh? Why? That's unusual, he doesn't invite anyone but Sonic to his place." Rouge commented.
