Amy's POV:"And then what, Grannie!?" I asked in excitement, jumping up and down on the pillow, that I used to sit on the floor. My Grandmother was telling me another favorite story of hers again, equipped with a storybook and her amazing skill of storytelling, she smiled at me before she continued reading the end of the story.
Grannie softly laughed, "After all that has happened, two people still found in their hearts to love again. They enjoyed the freedom they were rewarded, and then they married and had two beautiful kids. It was truly, a happily ever after."
"..."
But I snorted, "Why is that always the end? Shouldn't it be something else like them dying--"
"Okay, that's enough!" My Grandmother said as she closed the storybook. "Say, why do you always think that the ending should be death? Isn't that too much for a little child like you?" She continued, picking me up from the floor and cradling me into her arms.
I giggled, "Well it's because every story you read to me always ends with a happy ending! It's becoming tiresome to hear those endings!"
My Grandmother giggled and poked my nose lightly, "Silly child! Don't you want a happy ending too?"
I pouted and crossed my arms, "But it's becoming too cliche!"
My Grandmother laughed again and held me closer, "Little girls who usually say that always has a secret crush! Tell me who is the lucky boy?" She teased.
I stuck my tongue out in disgust, "Girls from my school say that boys have cooties!"
My Grandmother laughed again and said, "Silly child. I fear the day that I won't be able to see you grow to a young and independent woman... but I know that whoever is watching over us now, will protect you when I'm gone."
At that time, I was still a small child back then. And so I did not understand what my Grandmother was saying, but it was clear to me that what she was saying right at that moment was important. As she continued, she carried me as she walked in the quiet but beautiful built hallway our house in England has back then.
"May whoever is watching over us now may bless you your other half in this life of yours. For when you finally meet that person, may you feel loved and at peace. Just like how they brought your Grandfather to me."
As she carried me back to my room, I was beginning to fall asleep. Maybe my grannie realized this since she then started singing a lullaby. I was beginning to feel drowsy and so, I rested my head on her chest, still carrying me. I still had my eyes half-closed, but her singing made me want to fall into a deep slumber.
"And when the right time comes, you'll finally know the real truth." I heard her whispered the final line. And before I closed my eyes, I saw a ring encrusted with gold and diamonds with a pink gem hanging around my Grandmother's neck.

"Amy? Amy? Are you awake?" I heard a voice called.
I slowly opened my eyes, but the first thing I saw was the white ceiling. And so when I looked down, the first thing I saw was my parents, sitting at the side of my bed with panicked looks. "Oh thank goodness, we heard that you were murmuring something and immediately panicked." My mom sighed in relief. "What.. where am I?" I asked them, and that's where I finally took a good look around the room and realized that I was still at the hospital.
"You're at the hospital. Good thing you didn't have any serious injuries and only suffered a blister from your heel." My dad reassured me as he sat at my side. I nodded then asked, "But... where's Sonic?"
